East Harbor State Park Campground is a wonderful place to stay. The grounds are well kept. The facilities are neat and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is lots to do inside the park. And it is centrally located so you can go island hopping or many other activities in the area.
We went here in the fall for just three nights, and we really enjoyed the stay. There was no one in the office/store when we got there for check-in, and we had to wait around for about half an hour before someone came. The camp sites are pretty close to each other, but I guess most other camp grounds in the area are the same. We were lucky not to have anyone right next to us, because of the off season. Good facilities, dumpsters are conveniently located, and water and pump out stations are decent.
Huge and amazing state park and campground. Tons of trails, basketball, volleyball, and playgrounds. The only thing that is needed is an update to all the bathrooms. They did not allow much of an early check in. People were sitting in the parking lot not allowed to check in until 2:20 (3:00 is official check in).
Attended the annual trick or treating event with the grandkids. About 200 campers participated with decorations and handing out treats. This dog-friendly event is a lot of safe fun as all motor vehicles are prohibited during the event. We will certainly attend in the future.
This is my favorite campground to visit every time I'm in the area. All of the other campers are friendly, as well as the campground staff. They have a lot of facilities and cute events for Halloween. It's like a little home away from home!
