Great spot for a get-a-way but close to the Basin. Nice spring/summer boat ramp until the water level drops below its reach. A decent day of fishing yields a nice mixed limit of brook and rainbow trout.
I always like visiting East Park. Normally there are not a lot of people here. Often we see Ospary fishing. Nice picnic and camping area.
Not very deep but SO beautiful. Love to canoe & camp here. Still snow there in June, so bring a jacket for everyone.
I love East Park, close to town and very clean.
East Park is a hidden gem. Shhh, don't tell anyone. I don't want it to get too busy. Every time I go, we are one of only three or four families there. Usually we are the only ones on the water. We love fishing from a canoe or SOT kayaks. We see mostly stocked rainbow trout and an occasional brook trout. Osprey soar above and dive down into the water catching fish. It's really fun to watch! Sometimes we see deer on the shore and blue heron too. There is also a great campground we have stayed in a few times. Perhaps the most attractive thing about East Park is that it is only a short 35-40 minute drive from Vernal and the temperature is generally 20 degrees cooler. It is a great place to go get out of the heat!
