Customer Reviews
Fantastic views! Peaceful. Good camping spots. Three trail heads close by.
Great campground if you are doing one of the many hikes in the area. Wonderful views of the mountains. Even if the trailhead for the Beaten Path is full you won't encounter much traffic from that side nice it is pretty slow in the evenings.
The campground is built into the side of a hill with only a few level spots for small-medium sized vehicles or campers, but plenty of good flat sites for tents. There is a mix of completely open spots with views of the surrounding mountains, and those surrounded by mature pine trees that mostly blocks the view. The privacy is fair between sites, spaced about 25 yards apart. There was a large flat parking lot a few hundred yards away where I saw a medium-large trailer parked. In mid-September there were only 2-3 other campers there at most, and it was very quiet, aside from some bull moose that took up residence in one of the sites.
The road in is rough, but it is nice. Just be sure to pack everything, including bear spray. It's quite a ways to town and slow going on the narrow road.
It beautiful, serene, quiet, and if you get the right camping spot, has a great view of the laks
