Both 1n2 Campgrounds r closed n locked So don't waste your time or money 😫 drove 2 hours to get here ta c Campgrounds do not reserve !!!!!!!! Wasted time and half a tank of gas just to get here , now have to go back 2 hours n waste more gas money !!!! Screw them!!!! Let them sell it off 2

Had a blast. Got to take these two for their first camping experience. We got to chef it up on the grill and fire pit. Posted a map for helping others navigate with ease. Plan for bears. Very Peaceful and dark spot for watching 🌟

Excellent primitive campground. Wonderful to find a campground that's inexpensive! Beautiful area. There is a hiking trail at the end of the campground road. It leads to a cypress swamp, among other things. Lovely views. We had an excellent trip.

DON'T FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS DIRECTIONS to get here! Instead search the Point Washington Field Office address and head that way. The entrance road into the Forest to access both Camp Ground 1 & 2 is directly across the road from the Field Office. The road had pretty good sized deep puddles to get to the campsites. If you camp here after a hard rain, good luck with only 2 wheel drive. The reason I gave this campsite a 4 star was because of the lacking signs along the 2 mile dirt road trip get to the campsite. There's lots of little roads along the way and it's unclear which ones to take. However the Campsite itself was great. Very quiet and no thru traffic driving in because of the remote location. New vault bathroom and at night you can hear the waves from the Gulf, very peaceful. Lots of shade and trees, we had 2 hammocks and had no problem hanging them.

Great place to ride bikes. Multiple routes to choose from. it has combination of single track and twin track paths, mostly firm sand. Did not find the mudhole the other fella got stuck in, tho. Escape the crowds here.
