I guess this is a work in progress because there are a couple of buildings in the throws of construction. When we arrived, there was no one here to check us in. It seems anyone could come in and set up. It says there are bathrooms and showers but I don’t know where they are. The campground is just a big gravel parking lot. There are hookups with water and electricity and sewer. When we finished setting up and used the bathroom, the water shut off all over the park. The pictures on the website are VERY misleading. We are booked and prepaid for three nights at $359.00. I would not recommend this campground at this point. Perhaps in the future, construction will be complete and more amenities added.

No wifi while I was here (but that may be in the works.) There is cell signal here as well! Truly your Eastside oasis / home base. Ok. 2 stars sounds bad but hear me out. This camp is clearly a work in progress (and I believe under new management). I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because it is clear to me that they care. So… The pros: Location is amazing. About 16 miles from the St Mary entrance to Glacier (which is the entrance you don’t need a Going to the Sun road pass). The people are super nice too (host greeted us, offered a picnic table, and told us to reach out if we needed anything). There is a bathroom - we didn’t use so I can’t comment. We did find a 50 amp site. But suggest you check the site before setting up as there are several that are broken and also 30amp sprinkled among the 50 amp sites. FYI. You pick your site when you arrive. The cons. The camp is a gravel lot. It worked fine as a base but not to enjoy the camp unfortunately. This is the main reason for my low rating. At over $100 a night (yes, less than those at the west entrances) I expected a spot that I could sit outside and enjoy after hiking (see pics). Sites are not level - we needed a few boards to prop up tires/jacks and had to abandon our first site pic as we couldn’t level. No laundry (but there is a new building so they may have in the future). Summary. I would likely stay elsewhere (even at a higher cost) so I could cook outside and enjoy. But I’m hopeful they are addressing the challenges and it will improve. Ps - lots of cows. Some hanging out right outside our RV 😎. Oh. And they are dog friendly!
July 2024: OPEN & “fully functional” with FHU - 30/50amp, Water, Sewer, Garbage?!?!?! We ended up leaving a day early because of problems with power and lack of response. Pull-thru, big rig access. No cell coverage (TMobile or AT&T). Starlink very weak. Good location, but we would not come again. St Mary & East Glacier Entrance about 15 miles North. Same price as East Glacier KOA. This is not a KOA. Upgrades may be planned, but I understand owner died and this campground seems to be running itself. Check-in & instructions came by text. A very young boy (7yo, maybe?) ran out to direct us when we arrived, pretty much “park anywhere you want.” The sites are wide, but short and sloped, back to front. Larger rigs hang over into ‘road’ so getting in/out can be tricky. CHECK HOOKUPS BEFORE YOU PARK— some disrepair and/or not finished. View out front window is a row of unfinished concrete pads (for tipi glamping, maybe?) and an abandoned(?) double wide trailer, with the beautiful mountains beyond. The campground is clean, although garbage cans overflowing. Most campers seem to be in & out.
I booked way ahead and at the last minute was sent an email that my reservation was canceled. No explanation. I then called and left several messages and also replied back to the email asking why They finally texted back that they could not keep the tepee up due to wind. I did not get a refund so had to reach out again. They texted back telling me to dispute with my credit card Co and they would honor it. I got provisional credit which was revoked. Still haven't gotten my over $800 back. This has been going on since the beginning of August.
