Customer Feedback:
If you want a real old Florida experience stay cation here. Great fishing, if you need a guide they can set you up with a trip or you can ride out to Hickory mound and fish the salt flats from shore, just be prepared to walk now. The last hurricane closed a few of the roads down. It's absolutely beautiful out there.
It's a great place to come ever weekend also when you are a home owner great people to be around
We went down for a fishing tournament that my brother fished in. It was our 3rd time down there and once again we are just in awe at the atmosphere at the fish camp. The people are so friendly. The owners were there hanging out with all the folks and put on an amazing fish fry. It was great to be able to help my brother cook the fish and just spend time getting to know some of the friendly folks there. This is truly a little slice of heaven tucked away on the Gulf Coast of Florida and we can't wait to get back down there.
When I was a child 7-8-9 years old back in the early 60s and into my 20s we would come here when it was only sand and one small dock and a bait store. And to get to the location one sand road and a small wooden one lane bridge. One morning about 30 minutes before daybreak traveling down the sand road and when we got to the bridge it was washed out and we jackknife and flipped over the boat and trailer. It was a bad day and after the boat and trailer was flipped upright we went home with a screwed up boat and a bent trailer. The owner had a military halftrack to pull people who would get stuck in the sand and pulling out vehicles stuck pulling their boats out of the water It was so different from what it is today. No limit on fish and you could keep everything you pulled out of the water. I haven’t been in several decades but I plan on going this spring 2024
You can catch blue crab here!!! According to the lady behind the counter, best crabbing is after the sun goes down. I prefer crabbing early morning but we'll see once we go.
