Customer Reviews
This was not a terrible room or experience, it was just a bit dirty (hair in the tub) and the bed was not comfortable. But overall, a decent experience for a one-night stay. Great customer service, and a very convenient location to explore the town.
I took a video thinking I could use that so these pictures are screenshots from it so they are blurry. What a great location for a great price! When looking at prices you may think this place would not be that great because it’s such a good price. Don’t look any further this hotel room gets the job done for those that are just looking for a safe, clean, and central place to sleep. Checked for bed bugs and there are NONE! Stayed in room 110. You can definitely hear cars going by on the road so if you’re a light sleeper bring some earplugs. Besides that the heat worked good. The windows work great so you don’t have to use the ac at night if you like it cold. The shower had a good pressure and was nice and hot. And the bed was very comfortable. The pillows look small but got the job done. They provide an iron, iron board, fan, hair dryer, towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, makeup wipes, bar soap, along side with the regular and decaf coffee and a coffee maker. The fridge got my drinks cold. The breakfast had a waffle maker and mix, butter, syrup, different muffins, a few different oatmeal’s, milk, oj, yogurt, and 3 different cereals. They always had coffee and hot water available. They are 24/7 so come when you can and they will get you in your room, we checked in around 8 or 9pm on a Friday. Friendly staff! Only 10 mins from the hot springs and only 35 mins from the ski/snowboarding resort. Right next to downtown. Right next to a gas station, food, coffee, bar, etc.
Rooms were fine, except they backed up to an alley or parking lot. We opened the bathroom window since there was no fan, and someone walked by just a few feet from it. Parking was difficult on a busy weekend. Breakfast was decent. The staff members were friendly enough.
As a travel agent, I was in Durango on business, scouting out routes for future adventure motorcycle tours. The Econo Lodge served as my base for the night. While the hotel is a bit dated, it was clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly—an important factor when everything else in the area was quite pricey. The waffles at breakfast were a highlight, though I wish there had been more variety. The only downside was the trouble I had with the electronic keys, which failed several times. The front desk staff wasn’t as helpful as I’d hoped, but for an affordable stay while on the road, it did the job.
“Bill front desk manager” met me on arrival at 10pm; waiting at the front door, told me he’d be canceling my reservation. Called well in advance , spoke to a woman who informed me they remain open 24/7. Before I could even provide my name or reservation information. Unsure if blatant racism or simple ignorance. When I asked why he said because he checks everyone in at 9pm and he was leaving in 15 minutes. I gave him my ID and a credit card, and was told to find somewhere else to stay. I asked about a cancelation fee as he was the one who canceled without calling me or asking about my stay and was told to stay elsewhere.
