It’s definitely a Bug infested shack. However, not to be confused with the original Bug Shack just up the street on rte 25. I’d try the Bug Shack up the road. Other Bug Shack has a 2.65 Trip Advisor rating now that the hot water heater has been stabilized. I have seen Manesh tending to the rooms as I drive by the motel. He is always smiling as he cleans the rooms. Smiling maybe on the return he’s getting on the high priced rooms. I would say 75.00 $ per night would be fair market value. The Bug Shack is always open for business. Try the original Bug Shack just up the road. Cousin Mike will greet you at the door. free parking. Bacon served each am on the flat top. No continental breakfast. Try the Bug Shack.
I had a frustrating experience with this hotel due to an incorrect charge of $106. I had booked two rooms—one prepaid at booking and the other paid at check-in. However, a day after check-in, the hotel mistakenly charged my credit card again. When I contacted them, they acknowledged the error but have yet to issue a refund despite my repeated follow-ups over the past 10 days. Each time I call, I’m told they will speak to a manager, but nothing gets resolved, and they never follow up. Initially, they tried to blame Hotels.com, but Hotels.com confirmed the charge was made by the hotel. Unfortunately, both the hotel and Hotels.com have been unhelpful, leaving me without my refund. Extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and customer service. I spoke with Sai, Krupali and one other girl At front desk and it’s been a nightmare all in all. The hotel itself was below standards and extremely filthy.
The room is mostly ok, but the need to do some upgrades and repairs and rethink the set up. One side of the bed does not have a side table, lamp or outlet as they put the fridge and microwave there. The bathroom door is falling apart and makes a loud noise when you open it. The room service is kind of daily. They did partially restock the room, but did not really clean or make the bed. The breakfast was bad for us. The first day we went at 8:30 and there was very little there. Just some bagles, waffles and tiny muffins. The second day we wanted to get an early start, but when we went at 6:45 and nothing was set up, so we had to leave later than wanted. The road noise here is really bad and you often here noise from other rooms. I would not recommend this place nor would I return.
I honestly liked this little hotel! But women bring that pepper spray yall been hanging on too Staff was very friendly. I thought the room was clean. The beds are on the stiffer side but I tend to like that so doesn’t bother me. We had a room in the upstairs part of the hotel. They have little rooms that aren’t inside the main building. This man named Tom, Old late 60’s I’d say, walks around outside with no shirt and no shoes. I’m assuming he pays for residential stay. There’s just no way lol He came up to me and my boyfriend at night started chatting like normal but got very progressively creepy. “Oh you would look hot wet” “you guys sleep together?” Those were just 2 of the weird comments there were more. Kept trying to ask if we had any spare cigarettes. Ran up to our truck with a trailer attached to ask AGAIN if we had a cigarette as my boyfriend is ready to pull off into the road. Again hotel was super fine and all the easy access to the bbq next door and everything being so close it was great! I would just put that man on a leash, keep him inside lol
I had set my expectations low, but was pleasantly surprised. Check in and out are a breeze, staff is super polite and welcoming. It was super clean ( more than I expected as my standards on cleanliness are pretty high) and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Continental breakfast was a plus. I thought the price was a bit high, but it's a central location in the mountains in August, so I get it. Would surely stay here again.
