Hotel has gone down hill since new owners. Stuff isn't kept up. The towels and bed linens were stained and holey, the microwave was missing the glass plate, the pool and jacuzzi were filthy. (White blobs floating in it, hair and mud were in it, and green something was on the walls). The automatic fan in the bathroom was so noisy. The breakfast the first and third days was waffles, cereal, and coffee. Second day was better with muffins, bagels, and toast. Very disappointing.
First of all the building in the pictures is not the hotel second of all none of the pictures listed look like anywhere I saw in the hotel. Before we get into the negative, it is worth noting that everyone I dealt with as far as staff goes was very pleasant. So this review has nothing to do with the staff per se and everything to do with the building. When you walk in the carpet looks like someone cooked meth on it. and it definitely had not been vacuumed in quite some time. It was very dirty. The floor in our room was the same way. There were no blankets just a very thin sheet on the bed. The towels were threadbare, literally. And there was garbage behind the furniture under the beds and in the heater/ac. The bathroom fan was disgustingly dusty and the bathroom itself was gross. Also, they advertise that they do breakfast, but breakfast is used very generously. Most everything they had in the mornings was empty. There was a couple pieces of toast and a waffle maker and a thing of milk that was empty and this was not late. I would like to point out that I am a male who travels alone and I’m frankly not picky at all. I sleep in motels very often and don’t expect any frills or nice things and frankly, I expect them to be a little on the grungy side, but this one was very unkempt.
The service was good, as they did eventually solve most problems, such as when I was initially put in a room without a desk. After explaining what a desk is to the guy at the front desk, I was able to move rooms. The rooms were mostly in good shape, though one's chair wouldn't raise much so the desk wasn't usable. My room didn't have an ice bucket and was almost out of toilet paper, but again after asking for them, that was quickly sorted. The walls are thin and I had noisy neighbors blaring music, so it wasn't a peaceful evening. This hotel is conveniently located right across from the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. The Internet connection is poor. One one WLAN the throughput was good but the connection would drop for a few seconds about every minute. For streaming or things with a buffer this was fine, but live things like online gaming were frustrating. Oh the other WLAN, the throughput was poor.
Guy there named Mitchell, hopefully I spelt it right. But I stay a few months ago and then again last night, I left a blanket the first time checked to see if they had it and someone took it home since no one claimed it. Then he took it upon himself to give me to money to just buy another one since it wouldn’t be here till tomorrow. Long story short Mitchell deserves a raise of at least $5 an hour. Thank you Mitchell I appreciate you Also I’d never leave a review of a place but I’m making an exception for this cause that’s just a super nice thing to do
Very rude service room sheets and curtains are stained the wall had a chip out of it toilet flush broke bathroom door handle broken as well when I approached Auni the desk service he was very rude and unprofessional and said it works deal with it. Will not be returning or recommending ever again.
