Eddies Corner Incorporated Campground Introduce

⛽ Introduction / Overview: Central Montana’s Critical Crossroads

For Montana residents traveling the vast distances of the state, Eddies Corner Incorporated Campground is not just a place to stay—it is an institution. Strategically located at the nexus of US Highways 87 and 191 near Moore, this destination is a full-service hub, combining a truck stop, convenience store, diner, and a small, functional campground. It serves as an absolutely essential stopping point in the heart of the sparsely populated Judith Basin, the very kind of spot immortalized in the paintings of Charlie Russell.

The RV sites here offer a vital convenience for travelers, particularly those operating big rigs or simply seeking a reliable, full-service stopover far from the nearest city centers like Great Falls or Billings. While the campground is simple—often described as having a paved parking lot setting—it provides full hookups (water, sewer, and electric), making it a critical resource in an area where reliable services are scarce. Guests consistently rave about the excellent diner food and the surprisingly quiet atmosphere for an overnight stay adjacent to a truck stop, proving it is a welcome oasis on the long drive through Central Montana.

📍 Location and Accessibility in the Judith Basin

Eddies Corner is named for its founder, Eddie McConnell, who built the original cafe and bar in 1949, recognizing the potential of this critical crossroads. Its location is the key to its prominence.

Campground Address:
65000 US-87, Moore, MT 59464, USA

Situated approximately 17 miles west of Lewistown and well-positioned on the route between Billings and Great Falls, the Corner is an indispensable stop for all types of Montana travel.

  • Highway Junction: The facility is right at the intersection of US Highway 87 (connecting to Great Falls) and US Highway 191 (connecting to Billings via Harlowton).
  • Ease of Access: Being a dedicated truck stop, access is easy for all vehicle sizes, including big-rig RVs and those towing large trailers.
  • Scenic Surroundings: The location is surrounded by the vast, beautiful landscapes of the Judith Basin, with the Big Snowy and Little Belt Mountains visible on the horizon, offering a true sense of Montana's "Big Sky."

🛠️ Comprehensive Services Offered (Beyond the Campsite)

The true advantage of Eddies Corner lies in the holistic suite of traveler services bundled with the RV site, providing everything a road-weary Montanan could need.

  • RV Sites: There are a limited number (approximately 6) of RV sites that offer Full Hookups (FHU), including 30-amp power, water, and sewer connections.
  • Dry Camping/Truck Parking: The large adjacent paved lot offers free parking for trucks and RVs not requiring hookups, ideal for a quick, overnight dry camping stop. A small fee is often charged for using the dump station without purchasing a site.
  • Highly-Rated Diner/Cafe: The on-site restaurant is a major feature, offering excellent home-style cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It provides a welcome alternative to cooking after a long drive.
  • Essential Traveler Amenities: The facility includes public shower facilities (usually 4 showers), a coin-operated laundromat, and clean public restrooms.
  • Fuel and Supplies: Offers gas and diesel fuel lanes, a convenience store, and RV-friendly services.
  • Connectivity: Free Wi-Fi is available, a crucial service in this part of Montana where cell service can be spotty, especially for travelers with specific carriers.
  • Pricing: The full hookup sites are typically offered at a highly competitive price (historically around $20-$28 per night), reflecting its function as an essential overnight stop rather than a vacation resort.

⭐ Features and Highlights of the Roadside Oasis

Eddies Corner is celebrated by local users for its unique combination of practicality and comfort in a remote setting.

  • Quiet Overnight Stop: Despite the truck traffic, the RV sites are noted by many guests as being surprisingly quiet and conducive to a good night's sleep, making it a reliable choice for drivers.
  • Full Hookup Availability: The limited FHU sites are a lifesaver for RVers needing to dump tanks, fill water, and recharge batteries mid-journey, especially for large vehicles traveling through the center of the state.
  • Clean and Accessible Facilities: The availability of clean showers and laundry facilities on-site adds immense value, particularly for those on extended Montana road trips or long-term stays.
  • Community Feel: The location is a genuine community hub, frequently used by locals and families for a good meal, providing a slice of authentic Central Montana life.
  • The Diner Experience: The food quality is consistently highlighted as a major feature—a reliable, hearty Montana meal to fuel up before continuing your journey.
  • Green Space: Despite the parking lot environment for the RV sites, there is often a designated small, grassy area with picnic tables available for guests to relax outdoors.

Way off in the middle of nowhere on the drive from Billings to Great Falls, I find this little place with truck parking, and, with no service with my previous phone carrier in these parts, darkness approaching, and clock time running out, I decided to stop and press on in the morning. And I'm glad I did. Fair-sized place with a nice view, good food, and WiFi, it was the perfect place to roost. With my personal tank fueled up, I went out to the truck, turned on the heat, and went into deep, blissful sleep. It was a quiet place for the night. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, the service had been great, and when I returned 3 days later, that's where I spent the night yet again. Coming back is always one of the best recommendations I can give. When I'd rather not stay in Great Falls, and came out here, that's sayin' something.

Great place to stop. Huge place with everything you need while traveling. I didn't try the restaurant but hear it's good. The staff is great. Very clean.

Truck stop with diesel and gas. Cheap and freshly made pizza and other hot food options. There is a small park here that is great for letting your dogs out.
