Customer Reviews
Beautiful little hotel on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard! I spent 2 days working around the island and this hotel was very convenient, quiet, and comfortable. Restaurant on site and grocery store is right next door. Highly recommend!
Stay far away, it will ruin your vacation here. I checked into the hotel this evening at 10pm and it is now 10:30 I am writing this review, that’s how terrible my experience here has already been, primarily due to the behavior of the front desk staff. After completing checking in and walking out of the lobby with my service dog, a golden retriever, I was met with unexpected hostility from the front desk. The person at the front desk, who appeared to be a Caribbean woman in her 50s and had red hair, rudely berated me for having a dog, despite the fact that she failed to even recognize service animal upon my arrival. Her constant interruptions and condescending attitude made it impossible to communicate the legal distinction between a service animal and a dog. Instead of addressing my legitimate concerns, she resorted to actually shouting, demonstrating an alarming lack of professionalism. “Honey, that’s a dog, don’t try that with me”. To add insult to injury, she insisted on charging a $100 fee for my service animal, which I firmly contested based on ADA regulations. Despite my explanations about the tasks my service dog is trained for, she dismissed my claims with a smirk and threatened to charge the card on file, after I denied handing over my card for the fee, leaving me with little recourse given the late hour and my company’s prepayment. Stating “I’ll add a note you have a dog & you’ll get charged”. Her childish behavior was astounding. Obviously I’ll be contesting any pet fee charge and reporting the hotel for lack of ADA compliance. I am shocked a person with her demeanor is employed at all. Nor was I provided with any pleasantries, what to do in the area, where to park a car, not even the wifi password. As for the room itself, it was in unacceptable condition. I documented the filth, including stains everywhere on the carpet, scratches on the baseboards, and unsanitary marks on the floor, couch, and bedding. This hotel does not meet even basic hygiene standards and resembles a poorly maintained hostel rather than an idyllic retreat on the vineyard. This hotels offers a dismal experience that falls far short of what one would expect from a motel; I’ve stayed at many motels significantly nicer than this place. This place is extremely run down. I would strongly advise against ever staying here, as this place will certainly ruin your stay on the island.
We stayed for one night and it was disappointing overall. The room was tidy but our feet were black from walking on the dirty carpet. The front desk staff was extremely rude and it was very disappointing as we were excited for our stay and it was the first night of our vacation. No linens on the pull out sofa so had to go to the front desk. The location is great and restaurant next door is awesome but would not recommend or come back.
This has to be the nastiest place I have ever visited. There were bed bugs, management refused to give me another room, trash was everywhere and the staff were rude. Never again
I can’t say enough good things about Edgar Town Hotel all the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They upgraded our room due to it being our mini moon. I would definitely recommend staying here it’s was easy access to all sights.. The room was clean and comfortable.
