Customer Reviews
We've been coming here since Oct 2020 and have had a wonderful stay every time. Secluded location convenient for viewing elk (a scenic 45 min drive to St Mary's for shopping, Driftwood Saloon is just around the corner and the Benezette Hotel in town are both good restauraunts). The sites are spacious; all have fire rings, picnic tables, shade trees and room for parking. They occasionally have live music and often have a big fire burning in the pit at the pavilion. The river is awesome in the summer, leaves are beautiful in the fall, and we've seen elk in the campground several times. They have the most beautiful night skies. We drive 6 hours to camp here twice a year and it's always our favorite trip to make.
The campground is well kept. There is water and electric at each site. Quiet. Good place for relaxing weekend. We were lucky enough to get an elk visit while here. The cell service here is phenomenal!
One of the most beautiful campgrounds in the state. Mountains surrounding you in every direction. Dave and his father run one of the best campgrounds that I’ve been to. I’ve been tent camping all over PA and this is the one to go to. They have a lounge/bar area unlike anything I’ve seen at other campgrounds. I normally stay at State run campgrounds but this is a Private campground gem.
We had a great time at Elk Country Campground. The owners are very friendly and keep the campground in excellent condition. We definitely will be coming back!
WE had a great time when we were there. Ben was a very good host. We are going back in Sept. And I know we are going to have a good time again. Forgot to say that we took our granddaughter, and she had a great time. Thank you, guys, at Elk country campground
We stumbled on Elk Country Campground last year and loved everything about it! Its secluded but easy to get to, (some of the roads are a little snug with a large camper, but not their fault), campsites are spacious with plenty of room to spread out, the view is spectacular and the camp host was super friendly! Cant wait to go back!
Great place to camp at! Friendly and helpful owner. I believe this is our second time staying in this campground. Can't rate the rooms part as you bring your camper or tent. There was no elk in the campground this time, but there were some last time we stayed there. Still overall a great place to stay will definitely recommend!!
