We stayed at this small campground for one night. The sites are small and may not fit a big rig. It was very quiet and we hardly saw any other campers. We loved hearing the nearby river. They have a fenced in area which we assumed was a dog park but it was not labeled as such. There was also what looks like a small junk yard on the edge of the campground. The cost was expensive at $50.89 for one night. (June 2024)
We were happy to find this RV Park open after Thanksgiving on our drive home from WA. I-80 closed down due to dangerously high wind the morning we were supposed to leave, so we ended up staying 3 nights. The owner, Stacey, was super nice and even texted to see if we needed anything from the grocery store while she was there. The location of the park was cozy near the river and we saw deer daily. The Inn across the street was lit up at night for a pretty view.
No road noise, only birds and the river… what a treat! It’s right across from the historic hotel that serves dinner and cocktails at 5:30 (closed Sundays). While the campground is no frills (no bathroom, laundry, dog park or picnic table)… it’s off the beaten path yet easy access to the highway with peace and quiet. We will be back next time and will come hungry! Tip: take exit 255, the other exit gps might give you is a dirt road with a large hill
Easy off I-80, no frills full hookup spot. Perfect after a long day of driving and you just need some sleep. Cute historical town. Unfortunately it was late and everything was closed. We discovered a free hot springs (Saratoga Hobo Hot Springs) only 40 min SW, and ventured there the next morning before continuing our journey west. I’d stay again. Cash only- read the directions on her business page. Not GPS maps.
This is a no frills Rv Park. Elk Mountain is the town and the name of its mountain in the background. There's two ways to get to it. It's right off of Route 80. Full hook ups for $20. presently. There's an old hotel across the street that's very interesting. They also serve dinner. The town is very small. Does have a post office and a small store. Also there's an old restaurant where everything you order is homemade. Can't beat it. The conversation with the owners is well worth it, if you're into learning local history. We loved staying here for a few days. You can also explore Medicine Bow Mountain the back way.
