Just returned from our Hallmark vacation complete with snow. Truly a magical experience for us Texans. The cabin is well equipped for cooking. Nolan was a wonderful host and his tamales; delicious. Loved the decor (especially the Christmas tree) and the linens are top notch. The queen bed was very comfortable and the cabin was toasty. We loved the location and the peaceful, serene environment.

We took an "end of Summer" family trip and chose Elk Point Lodge in Vallecitos, CO. Cabin 5 housed a party of 6 very comfortably. The cabin was well equipped with a full size fridge, stove, pots, pans, silverware, paper towels, dish cloths, microwave, coffee, creamer, dish soap and much more. The large front patio/deck is a beautiful asset to sit and overlook the lake, early morning or evenings. The cabin was also equipped with a propane grill. Easy access to walk down to the lake and take in a nice walk, or enjoy the complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, or canoe (for Elk Point Lodge guests only). What I personally enjoyed was the peacefulness and the beauty of this property. They are also dog friendly!

READ ALL DISCLAIMERS BEFORE BOOKING! New restrictions have pushed me away from this property. I used to rent the 3 room cabin so we could relax away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Apparently now you are not allowed to invite visitors to enjoy the day for more than a few hrs and those visitors are also not allowed to use the bathrooms. Time to look for a more accommodating property.

What a quaint and lovely place this is! It's a true lodge-of-old type experience. Definitely different from a regular hotel but our room (minus a bathroom as there's a communal bathroom with shower) was clean and comfortable with thoughtful touches. The bed was extremely comfortable with perfect linens. We didn't take advantage of the communal living room but sat on the deck each morning with coffee by the fire pit. The delightful owners just added the lodge option and are still working some bugs out but all in all it was a fine respite at a very reasonable price.

We had an awesome weekend here! We really enjoyed the view from the cabin, the grill, and the quiet atmosphere. They even have paddle boards and kayaks that you can take out on the water. The lodge is deep enough in the woods for peace and quiet, but not too far from stores. Definitely recommend!!
