We discovered this campground 4 years ago and have stayed on 3 different occasions. The office staff is friendly and welcoming. Since our first stay in 2021, they have begun concreting sites, a very nice improvement. Each site has a fire pit and some have patios. We had zero issues on a full hook up site. The bathroom/shower house has been repainted and is bright and always clean. They have food trucks and entertainment on the weekends, so fun! We enjoyed the putt putt course. Most of all, their beautiful location with a river flowing around it, sites backing up to it. Gorgeous! We are Buffalo Trace lovers and appreciate how close it is. We will definitely be back.
Stayed 2 nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry room is very small but a new laundry facility is being prepared which will help alleviate wait times. The grounds and amenities were as advertised. We didn't get to play mini golf as weather was rainy but the little putt- putt area looked fun. Lots of places for families to to camp, play and enjoy the area. Would like to camp there again when in the area
We came from the flooded areas. The check in lady was amazing! Gave us recommendations on where to eat near by, the distilleries to check out, and was just a pleasure to speak with. Our site was spacious. Backed right up to the creek. The dog park is spacious and stocked full of the poop bags! Bath houses were clean! Highly recommend!
Elkhorn Creek RV park is a very nice place for long term rentals as well as vacationing. My hubby and I were there for the last 6 months. Clean, quiet and right in the middle of the Bourbon Trail. Steve and all the staff were very friendly, helpful and treat people with kindness and respect. The bath house is immaculately clean as well as the laundry. They have entertainment and food trucks on the weekends under the pavilion. We found the folks in the Frankfort area to be sure nice. Be sure to go to The Ark, area distilleries and buy some bourbon balls from Rebecca Ruth’s!
The staff at Elkhorn Creek Campground were very helpful and accommodating when I recently stayed the weekend and needed a late checkout on Sunday in order to spend some time with family without worry about what to do with the camper. The site we had 83A was small and the spacing of sites is pretty tight but perhaps because it was on the end it didn't seem like you were right on top of your neighbor. Just a nice quiet camping experience.
