The camping and car camping spaces are basically on gravel. Bathroom as clean, restaurant on site. Seemed many people lived on site. Quiet though. The best spots for car camping or pull through you can't book online. I ended up with a tent spot. Electricity avail.

We called the KOA Campground in Elko to get a reservation. We were over an hour away. I was told that I had to make reservations on the website. So with only a cellphone I attempted to make a reservation. The website is poorly constructed. If you make an error there is no way to go back and correct a typo. At 4 pm a message came on the registration page that said registration by using the website was closed. When I called the office the woman who answered said that they were closed and full. She was not at all pleasant. In fact she was downright rude. About five minutes later we received a phone call from a different woman who said they had spaces and we could make a reservation for one night at $102.00 plus taxes. That is twice the rate posted on their website. Avoid this KOA Campground at all costs. Instead go to either Iron Horse RV Park or Valley View RV Park where you will be treated with respect and dignity. How KOA can allow this KOA Campground to keep its franchise is beyond me.

We arrived around 4:00 p.m. We could almost hear crickets! Meaning the office was closed, however our name and space # were posted on a white board. Thank you for that The highway noise made sleeping difficult though. It was fine for an overnight.

Do yourself a favor and skip this KOA. We’ve stayed almost exclusively at KOAs over the past several years and this one almost ruined it for us. We stayed there on our trip out to CA and it is convenient location. Check in was ok, not overly friendly but we were only staying one night. The office/bar was supposed to be open until 4p and all closed up at 3:45p. Guy coming out of bar said she closed up early. No big deal. We accidentally left our adjustable step so I called that evening and she said she was gone for the night but would check and call the next day. No phone call the next day or ever for that matter. Oh well, my bad for leaving it. Still willing to shake it off and go I’ve it another go. This morning I called while driving and asked if they had an end spot available and she said yes and asked if I’d like to book. I said yes and gave my card. My partner heard the whole conversation since it was on speaker. Got there this afternoon and told I didn’t ask for an end spot and all were taken! That was the last straw since this woman had been short and rude from the beginning, on the phone, and then basically intimated I was lying about our conversation. I forgot to mention that she was nowhere to be found when I arrived and I had to look for her for about 5 minutes before she and a colleague came into the office. She did refund my money and when my partner called to tell her she heard the earlier phone conversation, Daffy, the manager and also the rude woman I dealt with hung up on her. We were driving out and saw Ironhorse Resort. Wow! What a difference. Large spots, shade trees, and nice people. And less expensive. Daffy actually did us a favor, we’ll be staying here on our next trips through here. Do yourself a favor and skip this KoA and check out Ironhorse a block away.

The area is clean and well kept and everything worked. Nice stop for us. Clean bathrooms and showers, decent wifi in the bar/lounge area. Very friendly folks. Had lunch while working and the food was fantastic. Large portions and tasty.
