Except for no shade at the spot we were, great experience. Quiet overall and pretty clean. No cell service with ATT until you get around the reservoir in certain areas. Firepit with grill, picnic table. Site was pretty level.
The Baumgartner campground was closed so we backtracked and ended up at Elks Flat. What I liked was the size of the camp sites - double sites run $20 a night and the singles were $15. The grounds were pretty trampled down, fire pits weren't cleaned out, a restroom was out-of-order and the water coming from the spigots wasn't clean. Gotta say tho, it was quiet at night and we met some very nice campers and you're close to Anderson Dam.
We had such a great time at this campground! It was well kept with lots of options for campsites. It's near the river and the bathrooms are clean and nice. All the campsites have a fire pit, picnic table, a surface for a propane stove and a clear place to pitch the tent.
Our most favorite camping spot this year. Trying to keep it a secret too lol it's a group site, about $100 per night, but so very worth it!
Went here with a group of 50. Best time in a long time! Paved roads all the way up, and the campground was amazing! They have sand for tents. Hiking, fishing, boating, you name it! 10 miles from the store.
