Emigrant Lake County Park Introduce
Emigrant Lake County Park is a hidden gem nestled in Southern Oregon, providing visitors with a serene natural setting for outdoor adventures and relaxation. Located just minutes from Ashland, this park offers a variety of recreational opportunities, making it a popular destination for both locals and travelers alike.
- Natural Beauty: The park is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including Emigrant Lake, which serves as a backdrop for activities like hiking, birdwatching, and photography. The nearby Lithia Springs provide an additional natural attraction for visitors.
- Camping Facilities: The park features a range of camping options, from basic tent sites to RV-friendly locations. While some areas are well-shaded and suitable for families with small children, others offer more open spaces. However, the presence of prickly weeds in certain areas may limit activities to the trailers or campers.
- Water Activities: Emigrant Lake is a haven for water enthusiasts, offering opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming (when safe). The lake's calm waters make it ideal for families looking to enjoy time on the water.
Camping at Emigrant Lake County Park provides access to a variety of amenities, including fire pits, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. While there are no water slides or pools available, the park emphasizes its natural surroundings and outdoor activities.
Customer feedback highlights both the park's strengths and areas for improvement. Many visitors praise the short hiking trails and proximity to the lake, which make it an excellent spot for paddleboarding and other water sports. However, some families with young children have found the lack of shade and amenities limiting, particularly since the water slides they expected were closed.

This is a pretty campsite but not great for families with small children. We were traveling with a 4 and 1 year old. I mainly booked this campsite because I was under the impression there were water slides (which have been shut down). The lower campsites are very nice with trees, the upper sites have no trees or shade. Pretty much the entire camp site is covered with very pokey weeds which resulted in us being confined to the trailer.
I love going here for short walks! And it's so close to the lake, it's a great place to get your paddle board in the water!
Great place. We had the best view of the lake. The bathrooms and showers were very clean
The lake is finally full again and is beautiful! Not even cold really, it's perfect swimming temperatures. The above-lake pics were taken from Songer Butte on the far side of the lake, a wonderful 1 mile hike!
This is one our favorite RV spots when transiting north or south on i5. We make a point to book in advance online (2weeks ahead) whenever we can.
