Have been camping here since the 70s. Good lake access sites and a great jumpoff for nearby lakes and rivers. Canoe fishing is good in this area. Tucker portage is fun as is the Flambeau. Lakes here are deceptive and produce some large fish. The several campgrounds in this area are all worthwhile. Lots of wildlife. Swampy between ridges so be ready for that. Fun towns nearby. Excellent grouse but you have to work for it. A couple weeks in this area in early autumn is time well spent.

Really nice campground!! Can’t beat the price compared to local private places. Good spacious sites, easy drive in, paved almost the whole way. Water pump. Pit toilet. Boat launch on beautiful small lake. There is a family living full time in one of the sites, but they seem nice. No host on site ever apparently.

Holy mosquitoes! There were other campers when I visited, one group was up drinking and being loud til all hours then some genious in another site was up at the buttcrack of dawn running a chainsaw. After a day on the water with only 3 tiny bluegills we packed up and went elsewhere. Did I mention the mosquitoes!? May have to get tested for west Nile!
