Enfield KOA Introduce

Hello, North Carolina travelers and outdoor enthusiasts! Planning a trip along I-95 or just looking for a comfortable and convenient escape within the Tar Heel State? Enfield KOA offers a welcoming stop that combines the essential amenities you need with the friendly service you appreciate. As a "Journey" KOA, it's designed to be an ideal overnight or short-stay destination, offering a great balance of accessibility and comfort. While it provides a rustic charm, it ensures cleanliness and helpful staff, making it a reliable choice for campers passing through or those looking for a quiet weekend getaway. This article will provide a detailed overview of Enfield KOA, highlighting its strategic location, available services, key features, and why it's a suitable option for locals seeking a hassle-free camping experience.

Enfield KOA is strategically located at 101 Bell Acres, Enfield, NC 27823, USA. Its most significant advantage is its "very conveniently located next to I-95," making it an "easy on/easy off" stop for travelers heading up or down the East Coast. This accessibility is a major plus, especially for those making long journeys or seeking a quick and easy place to pull over for the night. Despite its proximity to a major interstate, the campground is situated in a rural, peaceful setting "nestled among cotton, tobacco and peanut fields." This provides a surprisingly quiet atmosphere, as noted by several visitors who experienced "no traffic noise" and a "quiet area" despite being so close to the highway. While primarily serving as a convenient stopover for "snowbirds" and interstate travelers, its location still offers a comfortable base for North Carolina locals looking to explore the surrounding Halifax County area without venturing too far off the beaten path. The blend of easy access and rural tranquility makes Enfield KOA a practical and appealing choice.

Enfield KOA is equipped with a range of services designed to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible, whether you're staying for a night or a few days. The services offered generally include:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers sites with electric (15, 20, 30, and 50 amp), water, and sewer connections, accommodating RVs up to 70 feet in length, including many pull-through sites for easy entry and exit.
  • Tent Sites: Dedicated areas for traditional tent camping, providing a more rustic experience for those without an RV.
  • Camping Cabins: Available for rent, offering a basic shelter option with beds, a good alternative for those who prefer not to set up a tent but still want a camping experience.
  • Clean Restrooms and Hot Showers: Consistently mentioned by guests as being clean and well-maintained, these facilities are crucial for a comfortable stay.
  • Laundromat: A convenient on-site laundry facility for campers, especially beneficial for those on longer trips.
  • Convenience Store/Welcome Center: A "classic KOA A-frame" welcome center often includes a small store for essential supplies and bagged ice.
  • Propane Filling Station: Available for purchase, providing a convenient service for RVers.
  • Dump Station: For RVs that do not have full hookups or need to empty tanks before departing.
  • Wi-Fi: Available to guests, though some older reviews mention it being limited to one device per site or requiring a fee for increased access, it's a vital amenity for many travelers.
  • Pet-Friendly: The campground welcomes "furry friends" and even features a "large off-leash, fenced-in pet area," making it an excellent choice for those traveling with pets.
  • Playground for Children: A dedicated area for kids to burn off energy, essential for families.
  • Campground Security: Providing peace of mind for guests.
  • Customer Service: Staff are frequently praised for being "friendly and helpful," even checking in on guests who are feeling unwell, indicating a caring atmosphere.

Enfield KOA boasts several features and highlights that enhance the camping experience for its visitors. While it's described as "rustic" and "basic," its strengths lie in its practicality and the specific amenities it provides:

  • Ideal Location for Travelers: Its "easy on/easy off" access to I-95 is a significant highlight, positioning it as an excellent "overnight stop" or "halfway stop for snowbirds" and other long-distance travelers.
  • Spacious and Flat Sites: Reviewers frequently note that sites are "flat and good size," with ample room for slide-outs, making setup easy for RVs. Some sites are gravel, while others may have grass spots.
  • Peaceful Rural Setting: Despite highway proximity, the campground offers a "quiet and peaceful" atmosphere, allowing for a restful night's sleep. It feels "miles away in the countryside" even though it's close to civilization.
  • Friendly and Accommodating Staff: A recurring theme in reviews is the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and owners. Their willingness to assist, even with unexpected issues like illness, makes a big difference.
  • Swimming Pool: A "large swimming pool" is available, providing a refreshing way to cool off during warmer months, especially appealing for families.
  • TV Lounge/Game Room: Offers an indoor space for relaxation and entertainment, a nice alternative during inclement weather or for evening unwinding.
  • Miniature Golf Course: Provides a fun, recreational activity right on-site, perfect for a casual game with family or friends.
  • Proximity to Local Attractions: While it may not be a "destination campground" itself, it's conveniently located near several historical sites in Halifax, including Historic Stonewall, the Children's Museum & Science Center at the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount, and the Historic Halifax site which celebrates North Carolina's role in the American Revolution. This makes it a suitable base for local historical exploration.
  • Fishing and Golf Nearby: The campground offers proximity to external fishing spots and golf courses, appealing to those who enjoy these activities.

This Journey KOA is very conveniently located next to I 95. It is rustic. Surfaces are gravel with spots of grass here and there. The rest room is clean and brightly lit. The welcome center is classic KOA A-frame. The surrounding area is poorly maintained with signs of algae on the ice machine and weeds in the play area.

Easy to find. Alot of traffic tho. Site was flat and good size. We needed to stay an extra day because I was sick. The staff was very helpful. The next day they asked how I was.

Beautiful wooden setting. Surrounded by farmland. I-95 close by, some road noises but quite minimal. Campground well taken care of, manicured lawns and dog park area. Bathrooms very clean and well kept. We'll definitely be back. Stayed here one day in a travel trailer #24.

A great place for an overnight worth the RV. We were traveling from Maine to Central Florida and this was a nice place to stop. Pull through sites, full hookup on most and for the most part not too cramped. Not much to do around the area though so anything more than a day might get boring for the kids. Plenty of areas for the dogs....... even a little off Leash dog park on the premises. Staff was very friendly......I had a tire that was low on air and they brought a portable air compressor to the site and pumped it up. There is a pool on site but it was closed when we visited........ oh well, overall a nice place as a stopover.

Just off the highway but you barely notice the cars. Very friendly. The pool is very relaxing but it's closed on Sundays.. Good size playground. To the person who says why there is a lock on the bathroom, I don't think it's for the toilets but people looking for a warm shower in a clean place.
