Customer Reviews
Two years ago my family and I rented a cabin here. I did not know their firewood policy prior to arrival. Upon arrival I saw the huge sign that said "no outside firewood." When I went to check in, the lady at the desk (assumed it was the owner) asked me for my name on the reservation, followed up by a "DID YOU BURN ANY FIREWOOD?" I responded that I did because we did not know we werent allowed. Before I could finish she flipped out and said "YOU'RE LUCKY I DON'T MAKE YOU LEAVE AND FIND A WAY TO DISPOSE OF THE WOOD OR EVEN LET YOU ON OUR PROPERTY WITH IT!!!" I was shocked at how she belittled me and kept pushing the subject of bringing firewood. After our stay was over, I must have filled out a post stay review (Don't remember doing this) and expressed my feelings on the lady at the front desk and how she was unbelievably rude and disrespectful. Fast forward to last week. Our friends and I booked two cabins for June. Later that day, I get a cancellation notice from the KOA. Considering I didn't cancel it, I reached out to them via email, and got the response below: "Hi Nathan, I was reviewing the reservations made today and had noticed from your last stay you were not happy with the firewood policy. You had noted in your review that you would NEVER stay here again. We want all of our guests to have a wonderful stay and from your comments it doesn't look like we are a good fit for you. So I went ahead and canceled your reservation, which should give you ample time to find more suitable accommodations for you and your family. Thank You, Erie KOA Holiday" The owners of this place have ruined the campground. We stayed here many times over the past 10 years. CRAZY!

I’ll start on a high note and say PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. Save yourself from the absolute chaos that are the owners of this establishment, wasn’t fortunate enough to meet Jamie but Sharon was sure to make her presence known. Went down here with my boyfriend to visit my parents who got a site for their camper to visit in Erie for the weekend. Friday night we all got together for a little bonfire at the KOA, started out great, had some hot dogs and smores, hung put for a while and decided to head back to our place around 11:30 and meet my parents at their site the next morning for breakfast. We had a whole weekend planned for them to see and enjoy Erie and we were excited about it. I didn’t read the 55 rules that are STRICTLY ENFORCED by Sharon and her husband at the Erie KOA Holiday, unfortunately from reading others experiences I don’t think it would have mattered if I did because Sharon is just off her rocker. As we were driving out of the campsite at 5 mph and approached the entrance to leave, Sharon was standing there and basically just jumped in front of our car trying to flag us down. We rolled down our window and politely said hello and she responded in a very rude and aggressive tone “do you know that it’s quiet hours? And I just heard a car horn honk and I’m guessing that’s because you’re out here.” And we tried to explain that we didn’t realize the visitors had to be out by 11 and we apologized for any trouble or inconvenience we may have caused but that wasn’t good enough for Sharon. She proceeded to ask us for our guest registration passes for that day and I took it off the mirror and as I was handing it to her the wind took it and it just fell on the ground and she then responded “well give me your pass for tomorrow I’m taking that too since you just threw this at me.” And I was just astounded and said “I didn’t throw that at you.” And then she just told us we had to leave and weren’t allowed back. Sharon then decided that she would walk her mentally ill self all the way to my parents camper at almost midnight on Friday (so much for quiet hours) and disturb them when my parents just drove 2.5 hours and packed up, unpacked, and set up a whole campsite. She told my parents who did nothing wrong that we were absolutely disrespectful to her and THEY HAD TO LEAVE. “8 am you’re out of here” -Sharon These owners took the fun out of camping for us and it really just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. KOA should be ashamed that they are allowing this to happen to people. My parents had come here for a nice weekend to visit their daughter and instead got harassed and thrown out of a campsite for doing nothing. Thank you KOA Erie Holiday for ruining mine, my boyfriends, and especially my parents (who paid you for services and you have given them absolutely nothing) weekend.
Stayed for 2 nights in mid September, arrived and check in was easy. About 30 minutes after pulling in our site, the owner checked on us to make sure everything was going well. He seemed very helpful and also delivered firewood to us. The campground has a rule to use their firewood (noted multiple times and understandable). We are a young family with a 2 year old and 8 month old. We got a patio site with furniture and a grill. The furniture was in great condition, the grill seemed brand new and the firepit was clean. I recommend the upgraded site! We enjoyed walks around the campsite, playing at the park and fishing. The camp store had everything you need for fishing (poles, bait and tackle). We didn’t realize there was such good fishing so thankfully they had everything we needed to fish. The pool was closed, but seemed very nice. We knew the pool would be closed after Labor Day. Our site was very well maintained with gravel, mulch and a wood retaining wall. Our neighbors were gone most of the time so it felt like we were by ourselves most of the time. Fortunately, we didn’t encounter any problems with the staff and they were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, the campground seemed very clean and well maintained. Not sure if there are seasonal sites, but there was campers scattered throughout the campground and not super crowded. **I did not read reviews prior to this trip and did not experience any issues whatsoever**
We booked for 10 days and it was the absolute worst camping trip we ever had. Wasted over $1k for our family of 6 is a big deal! Staff was terrible (THE OWNER) everything else was mediocre. Pool was muh we tried the arcade on a rainy day and half the machines took your money and didn't work, the store was closed. They overcharge you for everything and interrogate the kids. They didn't have enough staff to do activities. It's no surprise they don't have anyone to work there with the owner being so nasty.
