felt like the only human around for miles, absolute solitude. And the sky at night was the clearest I have ever experienced. The only sound was the odd animal brushing past the tent. You will need a 4x4 but they advise this at ranger station.

Arguably one of the best sites along old ore road. A gentle breeze complimenting a serene sunrise. Don’t mind the sounds of coyotes at night, they are just enjoying the moon and the stars.

Beautiful. Great sunset. Peaceful. In three days the only person we saw was the park ranger. Make sure you have a high clearance 4x4 - don't try it with your Rav 4. It takes a good hour and 10 minutes to go 10 miles up Old Oar Road to where we camped.

The definition of "remote!" Beautiful views all around. The night sky was very dark, allowing for clear viewing of the Milky Way, as well as passing satellites. Be aware that the sign is obscured by brush when approaching from the south. Also, the road in is not for the faint of heart, so make sure you have a good, high-clearance vehicle, and you're not afraid to use it. I thought my Subaru would fair just fine, but although we made it, we lost our power steering along the way, and probably about 2 years off my life! While coming from the south challenges you with one or two difficult spots, coming from the north is much more treturous.

Awesome views. Be prepared for off roading.
