If you’re looking for quick access to the mountains, Eureka Campground puts you just below Animas Forks. The service and staff are wonderful and kind. Really helpful and cheerful. The camping is simple and you’ll need to basically be self reliant. They do have a cabin, electric hookups and a pit toilet. So don’t fuss, just go ride, drive, or hike!
We had such great time and the views from the campground were amazing! Camp hosts were very friendly. This was an old town where old buildings used to be. There was a lot of broken glass and nails at the campsites and down by the river. These nails go all the way back to the late 1800s! A magnetic roller would be good to have on hand to roll over your campsite before parking and setting up. This won't stop us from going back, we loved the area.
We have been going to Eureka Campground for years. I like how accessible the trails are from camp, especially now that Silverton does not allow OHV's in town. The host and hostess couldn't be any nicer! The scenery from camp is great. Looking forward to going back!
This campground is great for OHV'ers it's right on the trails, 30 and 50 amp hookups. No water or sewer. Camp hosts are very friendly and helpful. If you don't OHV you might not appreciate the campground as much. I was glad to stay here after 3 nights of boondocking. I would stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay and ride out on our ATV right from our cabin. Owners are great, sweet people! It is a "primitive" cabin as there is no water or bathroom. (Although the outdoor restroom is right next to the cabin). There is electricity, fold out couch to make a bed, two bunkbeds, table with 4 chairs, and a long couch along the wall for extra sleeping. We were mostly camping on this vacation, so that was no big deal to us!🙂
