Customer Reviews
Came here for a long weekend camping in a travel trailer with our family. It was great for our kiddo (4 years old) who loved the playgrounds, the pool, fishing and the lake, the arcade, the train, and generally just running around the safe, clean, and walkable campground. My wife and I would MUCH rather stay at a true campground as this was very commercialized, loud, busy, and overall not our style. We love camping but this isn't camping. The bathrooms and showers were nice, fairly new, and clean so I'd give some bonus points for that. One thing to note is that everything is overpriced and they'll charge you for just about anything and everything. Have a visitor coming? $10/person/day. Want to charge an EV? $40/day. When you reserve you even have to pay extra to pick a specific site. It's just that kind of place. We came here knowing that and just accepting it but I can see how it would be a shock if we didn't prepare ourselves.
This is our 3rd year going as a big group. They are awesome. Friendly staff, owner was nice and loaded our wood. Yummy food...love the pizza. Game room was pretty fun. Pool area was awesome. We love the adult bar, girls do a great job. Thanks for everything. Hope to be back next year. All the employees are so friendly and helpful. Getting to them on a first name basis is like having a friend. And you handled our big group like a champ...over 30 this year.
Up until we left I was thinking of getting seasonal but not after gate experience. We came on Thursday, 1 daughter left on Friday, upon Sunday checkout they refused to give my 10 dollar refund back cause needed her car pass. Really, I paid deposit on 2 keys only received 1 back. How would I get a key if paid no deposit. 5200 for seasonal, pd that at Manocqua. No that's, I go camping to have fun not break the pocket book. Gate keeper wouldn't let me leave with key card I pd deposit on and didn't get back. Hope you choke on it.
We stayed in a Bungalow. Although very pleasing to the eye, theres some improvements that could make the stay more enjoyable. The main downfall was the (small) bed was incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. I did not look forward to sleeping at all. Also they ask you to sweep before leaving...and sweeping with sand in general would be nice...but no broom to be found. They ask to put linens in the linen bag...no linen bag. They really need to add a caddy or something to the showers for space to put toiletries and some hooks or door hangers because theres no where to hang towels. Speaking of showers...the hot water runs out very fast....we had 2 kids shower and by the 2nd kids shower the hot water was basically gone. Also make sure to read policies as they don't allow electric scooters and will threaten to take them away from your child...even though you may then see a bunch of other kids riding them the next day. I know its camping and not a hotel stay but some inexpensive quick fixes could really make a difference considering i paid almost $1000 to stay 3 nights.
Staff at the office very helpful and professional. Basketball court I think Drew in people that live onsite because the teenagers and kids playing were very rude and confrontational. They bullied my son off the court. the Waterpark was very nice , beech was fun. suggestion, maybe make it two half courts so they can stay on one side. we pay alot of money to come here, should be able to enjoy everything thats here to offer.
