Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Landover

The room was not the best looking, the dresser and nightstand was old and beat up and they still have carpet which is surprising. But it was located near the highway leading to DC, and the customer service was very good. The desk staff were all nice and the maintenance guy helped bring our stuff upstairs. I think the amazing people working here is what saves this place.

I recently stayed at extended stay and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The rooms were spotless, well-maintained, and, most importantly, free of any bugs—a huge relief for me as cleanliness is a top priority. The staff was exceptional, always polite, friendly, and willing to go above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful tips they provided about the local area, their service truly stood out.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! We arrived 30 mins after check-in time, they told me my room wasn't ready and to come back in 20-30 mins...we came back 1 hr later and were given the keys. Which they loudly said my room number with others in the lobby (big safety concern that a hotel should never do). When I went up to go to the room, it was not at all cleaned or ready...it was half cleaned with pillows on the floor, etc. It reeked of cigarette smoke. I went back down to the front desk to attempt to get another room, and the front desk lady told me her manager would be down in 20 mins to help me and if I could take a seat in the "lobby". While I was waiting, a guest stopped at the front desk complaining of issues of his room. I was already very concerned based on what he was saying, and then he came back with 2 roaches in a cup that he had found in his room. I immediately checked out. They only gave me a 50% refund (which still has yet to process on my card, so I'll believe it when I see it)...but there are a lot of budget friendly hotels in this area so please choose one of the others...NOT THIS ONE!! The place looks absolutely nothing like it does online. I had big concerns for my safety, cleanliness, and general well being.

I stayed here for several weeks and the staff made me feel very safe & respected. My room was clean and housekeeping was great. After I checked out there was a mistake with my deposit but Ms. Brunie Lopez took care of it with no problem and compensated me with a free stay! I’d definitely come to this location again!

The host checking in was ok. The included breakfast was packs of oatmeal that you grabbed walking out the door. The front desk person Kiansa Mclean was very unknowledgeable and slightly rude. The manager Alexis Jackson wasn’t much better. I have never been to a place where staff were so unaware of the policy. I requested information on late checkout and was told to just put some money to the side because I would definitely be charged. When I asked how much absolutely no one knew the answer.
