Wife and I just spent 3 nights here. Tried for a suite since we sleep so differently but no suites available here. We wanted to stay here as our daughter and family were already registered here. We requested and received a King Size bed. We were shocked how tight our room was so do not even come close to believing the pics as this is all trick photography anyway. But our daughter came in later and also had the same room type and the room in this one was more to include the bathroom. You were not going to use this bathroom w/o walking in as much as possible and then shut the door. The door that was sticking to the floor and needed force to open/close it. Front desk seemed surprised but we found later that the same thing was happening in our daughters room. Hotel, for us anyway, was located in a good location for what we needed. Front desk staff on Friday afternoon check in was friendly. But what got me was my breakfast at the start of it with Miss Pat setting up. What a gem she is to this hotel and her breakfast was much better than what we found on Sunday. Miss Pat was off sick then. But she made some of the best grits I have ever had and this is no joke. I added a pat of butter and was in 7th heaven. Bacon was cooked well and she was just so helpful to everyone. Some minor issues management needs to deal with. The lobby was very chilly in the mornings and the piped in music was just too loud around the front desk area. Maybe this is done for a reason but just beware. When we checked in on Friday there was the one courteous lady working the counter and I saw two other employees back in the office talking. One, manager, maybe, come out and we thought he was going to help with the line of customers patiently waiting. Nope. No one helped her at all so we waited. The rooms did seem clean and well enough stocked. Ice machines worked on our two floors and that is a plus. Some minor nuisances for sure but overall not bad. We likely won't stay again as we prefer a suite type room for reasons already mentioned. But.....I'd consider going back for Miss Pat's most excellent grits.
There was a small mishap at check in. I was given a room that was used and not cleaned. After I alerted staff of issue I was reissued another room promptly and she apologized. The bed and room was clean and comfortable. There was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in shower. There was soap and lotion in bath area. indoor Pool was closed. Breakfast and Ms. Jeanette were the highlight. This woman was amazing and a fine example of going above and beyond. She was very attentive and even made waffles for some of the guests. Food options were spinach and swiss quiche, turkey sausage, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bread/bagels/ muffins, juice and coffee. I would definitely stay here again.
Not very happy with my stay at the hotel. The first night I found the toilet did not flush, the problem was solved in the morning. The room is old, the service is bad. Good location and the breakfast is good. Currently staying at the Fairfield INN in Chicago, very happy with my room and the service.
I'm a Gold Elite member and have enjoyed the Marriott experience.....until I came here. Started off ok, great service. Four hours later we are packing our bags and leaving the hotel, thanks to the rude desk clerk on the evening shift. First bad experience at a Marriott, thanks Myrtle Beach.
***CATFISH PHOTOS***Friendly staff is all I can say. We paid 150.00 for a non refundable room. Place is scary to be honest. Rooms feel like closets. The ceiling was coming apart and honestly looked like it was going to cave. The entire place as soon as you walked in had such a heavy Clorox smell. It actually is overwhelming. Headache strong Clorox smell. Husband and I jumped online and booked hotel less than a mile away for about 10$ more and left to stay in a Clean, safe, comfortable and comfortable place!
