Fairfield Inn & Suites Abingdon

Our one-night stay at the Fairfield Inn in ABINGDON, VA was great! The breakfast was most enjoyable, fresh and hot. The staff was great. The young lady, Leigh, at the front desk was very helpful. My husband was extremely tired when we arrived, Leigh noticed and offered to get coffee for him, and did. We definitely recommend this hotel!!!

Cows! Stayed here for just a few hours overnight on our way to visit family. Staff was great, rooms had plenty of space. But the best part was opening the window to see the neighbor cows roaming. 🤩

We stayed at Fairfield Inn for one night one week before Thanksgiving. We did NOT want to be in Abingdon - we wanted to be at home but the roads started icing over and we decided that, on the whole, it was probably better to be alive in Abingdon than dead at home (or trying to get there). Regardless of our state of mind, it was a very nice stay and the people were very nice as well (but I still hate snow). Fairfield always has nice rooms and this one did not disappoint. We actually checked in quite a bit earlier than we normally stop when traveling - it was just after 6 or so instead of 9 or 10 so we had a whole evening stretching out in front of us. We settled into a typically (at Fairfield) comfortable, clean room. My partner watched TV and I decided to visit the pool. I wasn't traveling with a bathing suit so I just went down in a t-shirt and shorts and sat on the side. I was pretty much alone so I suppose I could've gone in but it wouldn't have been so cool being a one-woman wet t-shirt contest on the way back to the room. Anyway, the pool was nice. I went down for breakfast the next morning and found a very nice set up. First up were cheese onelettes and sausage patties followed by breakfast pastries. I grabbed a biscuit so I could make a sausage and omelette sandwich which was delicious. When I went up to check out the rest, I found the most beautiful oatmeal bar, I've ever seen! A vat of oatmeal with all the yoppings you could dream of: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, chocolate chips, raisins, cranberries, brown sugar, cinnamon... There was more, I just can't remember it all. I loaded up a bowl of oatmeal with about as much toppings as oatmeal, grabbed a carton of milk from the fridge and headed back up to my room for second breakfast - I am half hobbit after all. Anyway, we ended up leaving around 10:30 once we were sure the snow had stopped and the roads were clear. As unhappy as we were with our forced stop, we were very happy with our hotel. Hate snow.

Very kind staff. Clean. Great breakfast. A good experience here after a horrible experience elsewhere.

Robin was extremely nice an most helpful. She made our stay such a great experience with such kindness! The room was very clean and spacious!
