Filed police complaint against hotel manager I stayed at this hotel with family for a few days. The experience was unlike I have ever had at a Marriott property. It started badly and got worse from there. I have filed a police complaint against Christy the General Manager and Heather the front desk manager. They accused me of throwing a fitted sheet in trash and charged $150 for it! This never happened. They refused to share any so-called evidence that they have. They would not even discuss the incident with me to explain the basis of this allegation. I contacted Marriott customer service and was given additional points but the underlying issue was not resolved. I am going to continue to escalate till I receive justice. We were checked into a room that had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. The carpet was dirty, room was smelly, sink and bathtub were not draining. We requested to be moved into another room right away. Things were not too much better in the second room. We had to request housekeeping multiple times over several days before we finally received the service. We were travelling with a baby, and this made the stay miserable. We checked out early because we were worried about what other allegation they might throw at us. I am shocked this is a Marriott hotel.
Conveniently located, newer property. Unfortunately, the only positive comments possible. The treadmill has a short in the video monitor. It keeps turning off while one runs. No one bothered to fix this issue during the week of my stay. No towels available on any of the days I visited the fitness center. A box of Kleenex? How about a channel guide? Asking too much? Interesting policy of blaming “Marriott” for only providing housekeeping after the 3rd day and then every other day of a stay. I stay more than 100 days a year in hotels, most are Marriotts. Marriott does not set the housekeeping schedule, that’s up to the local property. Some provide it every day, some every other day. The third day routine is a new one. Someone dropped off towels once during the week I stayed. The math did not work out for me. For some reason, the toilet was not bolted to the floor. Have to say, that is a new one for me. I reported it, but no one bothered to fix the problem. Every time the toilet moved from its base, sewer gas was vented into the bathroom. The shower was icky. Someone was saving money on hot water as well. I am not a fan of really hot showers, but this one can be turned to the hottest setting and it’s only lukewarm. The roach in the stairwell was an added touch. Want to laundry. Forget it. Cost cutting shows everywhere. From a lack of housekeeping to poor maintenance and lack of hot water. Very unfortunate, as this location is convenient for my business meetings. The best suggestion is to stay in Turkey Creek, not Lenoir City.
Clean, quiet, and no bugs save for a stink bug or two in the hallway, so basically nothing of consequence. The reason I'm giving the room only 3 stars is because it cost more than $350 but was incredibly humid, and also the shower didn't have anything in the bottom of it to prevent slipping and I almost fell. The temperature was fine, but sitting on the beds or chairs for a few seconds would result in me getting up with damp pants. The reason for this is probably that the intake and filters for the air conditioning unit were both clogged with dust. There was no one from room service there to help me clean them. Cleaning this stuff should be part of bi-monthly or quarterly maintenance when you run a hotel. If you cheap out on stuff like this, your hotel is going to slowly degrade. If you're charging $350+ for a room, I better not have to deal with it being practically damp from all the humidity, and I shouldn't need to worry about my safety in the bathroom. The lady at the front desk was very patient, personable, and helpful. The breakfast was surprisingly good and had a lot of variety. Everything seemed pretty clean. We didn't use the gym or the pool, so no comment on those. Checkout was at a good time, so we didn't have to wake up too early to worry about that. Overall, our stay was a good one, but it was not worth what we were charged. Oh, and the internet was out and apparently has been for weeks. Just eat the maintenance costs. It's part of running a hotel.
I travel a lot and my preferred hotel is Marriott, I checked in a day before on the app, the app asked me “around what time should we be expecting you?” (11am) I showed up at 11:30am, the receptionist said there’s no rooms ready and they said the entire hotel was booked with only 6 cars in the parking lot, I got my room around 5:30pm. After check in there was a different receptionist and she was very very nice, professional and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and quiet.
Room was really clean. The only problem was the internet for the TV wasn't working and we stayed here for a week. The house keeping manager was absolutely wonderful. She made sure i was well taken care of and stocked up on everything I needed. Lady at the front desk was also polite and helpful. Breakfast was decent and coffee was good.
