Customer Feedback:

  • "Absolutely love this area! Great camping, swimming, and nature hikes. Densely forested, be ready to connect, but unfortunately due to recent fires, some of the best spots are now unsafe to be at. Pack out what you bring in and be responsible with campfires, cooking, and all open flames! Bring a 5-gallon bucket of water, shovel, and axe even when camping in designated sites. We all want our grandchildren and beyond to be able to enjoy this beautiful area."
  • "Went for a drive a few weeks ago and we were absolutely shocked Cascara Campground was open but the lake was empty. Usually, this time of the year it's full. The swim area and boat dock had zero water, so strange! I wonder if something is going on that I don't know about??! I know we haven't had nearly enough rain, but I have never seen it this empty in May! Nuts!"

Fall creek (bedrock) was great little hard to walk down to the water although was able to carry my babies down and have a blast. Mellow current not fast at all. Highly recommended to take all kids and age groups

Water was extremely low, 1/2 mile hike from campground to water's edge. However park rangers were extremely helpful and friendly. Camp hosts were pretty much useless unless you wanted to buy field, which was only available from 8-9 a.m. And 5-8 p.m. Most other campgrounds it is available from 7 a.m.until 9 p.m.. The hosts also spend their day holed up in their R.V. Rather than actually being hosts. The junior Rangers do all the upkeep out the park as well as checking on guests and making sure everyone's needs are met. Might as well just get rid of the hosts. Minus one star due to them. The scenery is beautiful, campsites come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, and the vault toilets are very well upkept. Clean and maintained. Sites are well spaced with at least 50 feet of brush and growth between each site. Benefit of the low water is out provides a great Off-leash area for the dogs. Rangers don't mind so long as your dog is still under your control. Technically you aren't in the campground when you are out on the lake bed. Use common sense and be sure your dog is fully off leash trained AND obedient, and this is a great opportunity. Just make sure to re-leash your dog prior to exciting the lake bed.
