This Maricopa County Park is fantastic. The sites are huge and spaced well apart. The hosts are very pleasant and keep everything in the campground clean and neat. In addition, there is a seemingly endless number of trails for hiking and biking.
Wow! what can I say about this site. I'll start by saying the campground itself is very clean and well kept. The restroom shower areas were neat and well stocked. And the scenery...... The incredible views from every direction were awesome. It was very quiet and peaceful. ***A WORD OF CAUTION*** stay the paths! The area is covered with cholla cactus. The ground is littered with their needles and they are hard to see. Your pets will collect them in their feet and you will collect them in your shoes. They are hard to remove and painful.
Reserve ahead of time, unless you don’t mind hopping from site to site each day. 32.00 per night with full hookups, water and power. Central bathroom has warm (enough) showers. Fire rings and concrete picnic tables. RV dump and commercial trash containers. Maintenance team does a good job of cleaning. They even rake out every site after a camper leaves. My only complaint comes from the ‘tent folks’ allowed to camp in the RV area. Four cars, five moms, 15 kids and four tents. Kids were screaming, yelling, running in the drive lanes, throwing garbage, bikes and trash everywhere. Three boys came into the rest room while I was washing my hands. Two went into stalls, the other went for the shower, locked the door and presumably peed down the drain. The moms (no dads) had strung Christmas lights all over the cactus’ and trees. Before being coerced by the park staff to leave, they burned all their garbage in the fire ring. Nice four foot flame with black smoke. I dinged two stars off for the park allowing tent campers in the RV lot. Why? RV’ers are not allowed in the tent spots. Overall the park and staff are great. Facilities are just as good. Lots of hiking trails. When the home schoolers left the park was VERY quiet and relaxing.
Whitetanks is so beautiful, we've stayed in summer & winter. Each season offers its own wonder. These pics are from our November trip.
Great county RV park. Way off the beaten path, yet asphalt all the way to your site. 2 miles inside the White Tank Regional Park which is 4 miles off the 303 freeway. Quiet, and super dark at night. Stars galore. Great place for up to a 14 day stay.
The sites were nice, but the bath / shower house is not easily accessible for all the campers. We found the shower house at the Willow Campground easier to use and access.
Nice campground in the hills. Large sites, fairly level. Clean bath house with shower. Quiet, spaced out sites.
Spacious suites. Neat and tidy. Loved the warm showers as well.
