As a first-time glamper, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than Faraway! The dome we stayed in was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything you'd expect from a hotel—air conditioning, heating, a kitchenette, and even dog bowls for our furry child. The location was perfect, just a short drive from several wineries and Shenandoah National Park. One of the highlights was having access to grills and flat tops, which came in handy when we brought our own cooler and cooked up some delicious steaks while taking in the breathtaking views. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!
When the geodomes flashed across my Instagram feed, they seemed too good to be true. The perfect combination of camping/nature with luxury/rest? Impossible! However, I'm happy to report that it was BETTER than I could've imagined. I surprised my husband with the trip, which meant that, when we arrived in the dark with a cold, drizzling rain, he had no idea what he was in for. When we stepped into the dome, we were immediately cozy and dry. We turned on our little electric fireplace, poured a glass of wine, and settled in to watch a movie on our computer (using the robust wifi). While we had intended to hike more, we ended up staying in the dome for much of our visit, watching the sunset, playing games, sipping coffee, enjoying meals cooked on the grill/griddle, reading books, and just taking in the amazing views. We cannot WAIT to go back!
We had a wonderful long weekend. I wanted relaxation and quiet and my husband wanted to see the night sky. We both got what we wanted. Plenty of places to eat and things to do close by. We want to go back in autumn.
Our stay was wonderful. Such a fun way to spend time with your loved one. Unique experience. Remote but only 10-15 minutes away from restaurants and attractions. We stayed during cold nights so I was worried we will be cold, but the dome was equipped with a heated bed topper and a heater in the room. We were very comfortable. It was great to be surrounded by nature, very peaceful.
The Faraway domes are so awesome! Loved the deck with fit pit! The king bed is comfy and the kitchenette and bathroom/shower are top drawer! The setting is gorgeous with stunning scenery all the way around. It was the perfect place for a romantic getaway and there are lots of things to see and do in the area. We took a hike and stopped by a winery, as well. I highly recommend this place!
Glamping at its finest. Stunning views, we made it just it time to enjoy the sunset on our first night, very clean, super comfy memory foam bed and the heating pads was an excellent addition to creature comforts. The kitchen and bathroom were super cute (who doesn’t like a hot shower?), kitchen was well equipped and even had some basic spices/seasoning available. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway!
Everything we were looking for this past weekend to get away from the city and enjoy the national park. Perfect location to all places especially the park. The place has everything you need and the deck is the best part at night with fireplace and stars. Highly recommend especially if you bring your dog.
