There are 2 Campground areas Main Campground & East Campground which is smaller but more mature trees. Big Rig and Dog Friendly. Easy in and out. 45’ Motorcoach had no issues checking in, finding our Site and backing in. Our Site 11E was 70’ long which made it easy to park our tow with the RV. Plenty of nice grass to hang out in between sites. Dogs loved it and the beachy area along the water. Picnic Table and fire pit. Hard packed gravel pad and quite level! Very well maintained park. They have planted a bunch of small trees that will make much needed additional shade. Electric only 30/50 $26/night, dump station. Easy to find. Route 83 South from Route 12 was very smooth with wide shoulder. Would stay again!
Warning to out of town guests - your reserved site may be taken by a local. We arrive a little after 8pm on a Friday night due to a long drive day. The representative at the check in window claimed to be unable to find our reservation until we could prove it with our reservation email. Then when we got to our lakeside site which was beautiful, there was a local couple who had set up there. They moved their car when asked but lingered on the water at our site awkwardly long while we tried to enjoy as a family before finally leaving after asking them to leave again. Perhaps both situations weren’t related… It made for a difficult and prolonged check in and set up process after a long travel day. Warning for weary travelers.
Unfortunately, we had to relocate our campgrounds because a tall white man was following my kids around. They said it appeared he was taking pictures of them. He was wearing a black hat, glasses, and had brownish-red hair.
8/2023 - Last minute stop as just passing thru. Had camper pad on east end lakeside. Very brisk SE wind with white caps on the water. Next morning was very calm making mosquitoes come out in swarms. Pads nice and wide. A good distance separates each. Each pad had a aluminum picnic table and metal ring fire pit. Clean water fill area and dump area. Park itself was very clean and maintained.
3 Stars due to flies. Campsites along the river were great, spacious between sites, flat, level gravel spots. Movable picnic table. Only reason for 3 stars is the fact that there is a fly infestation. Im sure the grounds people could do something to keep the fly population down. Campers next to us had a screened in pop up and they had a fly swatter that sizzles the flies in side the screened in pop up and it was full of flies since all we heard were sizzles while they were inside it.
This campground is well maintained, has clean bathrooms, a nice swimming area, a fishing dock, and plenty of space between sights so you don’t here everything everyone is saying! The playgrounds are nice but need some fixing up. We tent camped and or friends had a camper. We had adjacent sights and we definitely did not hear each other talking without yelling! The bathrooms are clean, newly renovated, and centrally located for everyone to access them. While we were there they sprayed for mosquitoes, mowed and re leveled the camper sights parking. They staff was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable! Over all Farm Island is a great place for a family of campers to stay.
