Everything you need in this amazing little campground! Trails down to the beach all through the campground. Nice shower house! Hosts on site, although we didn’t meet them personally. Ghost town and Fayette cliff had great walking/hiking paths! The historic store and workers were so kind and friendly! Love this campground!

We went to the historic town to walk around, not the camping side of the park. The big foundry was under construction so we couldn’t see that. But the rest of the town was fascinating. They have nice trails to walk around the park. The welcome center has a little store, model of the town, modern bathrooms. We were there for maybe 1-1/2 to 2 hours with kids and dogs. The modern docks for boats seemed kinda out of place.

I planned a trip to the UP with really no clue where we were going to camp. I found this place about 2 days before our trip. We rode a motorcycle from Metro Detroit all the way to Fayette Historic State Park and it was MOST DEFINITELY worth the trip. We stayed for 2 nights. The historic town was so interesting and informative. The sunset was so beautiful and breath taking. We stayed at site 52 and it was perfect. Lake Michigan was about a couple or few hundred feet or so away from the site and you could see it through the pines 💓 There was a beach that we found little blue crab claws on. The sand was perfect to lay a blanket and watch the sunset. The historic town is a must! I absolutely recommend staying a night or 2 here! Oh! BONUS: the sites all have electric posts for RV hook ups. We tented, but we were able to use the posts for charging our phones 😄

We're in our 60s. Camped a trailer here 4 days. For us, the sites are big enough with 20, 30, and 50 amp service. Families are the theme here in July. The biking and swimming ought to tire the kids out. Bathroom and showers are great considering all the use. (No clothes hooks) I'm not a fan of Michigan Park fire pits... Trails lead to a swim beach, the historic site, and the bluff & woods. (3 MI ?). They're all great! Oh, and there's a decent boat launch for family boats and fishing boats. No fish cleaning facilities here, though... Restaurant/bar... 1/4 mi.& 6 mi. Families, fishermen, and disabled will enjoy FHSP.

DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS!!!! the road is closed to get here. Go in the main entrance of the park. The south entrance is closed. This campground is beautiful. We came here in February so we don't know what it is like in the busy season. We have the whole campground to ourselves. Walking down to frozen lake Michigan is amazing and the sunsets are crazy cool.

Sites are close and some of them are very uneven and difficult to use. The bathroom is lovely and clean and new. The park is fantastic.
