Fenders is our go-to place for a warm getaway. The staff, Tiffany, was very helpful in finding a spot for us as we didn't have a reservation. She found a river front site that has an amazing view. We are taking advantage of the cheaper weekly rate. They also offer AAA and Passport America discounts. We stayed in sp. #9.
The good: right on the water, good rates with Passport America and the staff was friendly. The bad: it's a little steep at some places in the park and the whole place needs revamped. The pool and hot tub were closed during our visit and appear to be a construction zone. The ugly: game room is a dusty old room. Utility connections were at the very front of the site, so hooking up sewer is an engineering project.
There is an aggressive dog in the coach right by the pool, the owners allow it to escape at least once a week. It attacks other dogs and cars, managers don't do anything about it. I saw two dogs hurt by this boxer. The owners of the dog are friends of the owner of the park and have been in the park for four years. Also the park doesn't have enough bathrooms and showers for the number of people residing there. Definitely would never return, overall a bad experience, mismanaged place, definitely needs a visit by health inspectors.
