A simple campground with all electric sites. There is a water fill-up station, no dump. Nice hiking trails and close to the lake/bridge. Reception is spotty. It's quiet and very dark at night. Traffic noise in the day. It's self service, just fill out the envelope and pick an open site. $22/night. There is a picnic pavilion too.
Tent camped in early February, (yes it was quite chilly) the campground was nice, pretty well kept and not busy. One thing i would point out is, especially if you are tent camping, you will be able to hear cars crossing over the bridge. so if you are a light sleeper or just don’t enjoy the sound of cars, this spot may not be for you. There was a little creek near our spot which was a cool little addition, there was also plenty of available limbs which we were able to use for our fire. This spot was very easily accessible, and a great spot if you will be heading out on the lake while there. You can also take the path from the campground over the bridge (about a 1 mile walk) if you want a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise!
This was my 4th time camping at Fenton campground. The electric box power went out, so I could not charge my phone, make coffee or use my small tent fan. I don't mind paying extra for electric. But when I did not have it, I wasn't happy. I always leave my campspots clean. This time, previous campers left it a mess. I cleaned it up before even setting up. And even though I wasn't a happy camper! I left it clean. Do better people! Think about the campers using the spot after you leave! In the morning I packed up and left. I was going to stay 1-2 more nights. Normally I pay in advance. This time I paid for one night. Thank goodness.
Nice little spot to fish off the bank near the bridge. Caught some small bass and sunfish right by the boat ramp.
Excellent hiking trails, you can traverse throughout the woods or right by the water. Theres a boat landing nearby. And overall an incredible camping area
