Ferry island is the perfect spot to camp. If you like fishing on the Sheena river or just want to get out into nature without having to get out of town. Powered sites for glampers and none powered for ruffians. playground for kids to run around.
A great campground at a reasonable price. Close to Terrace downtown/shopping areas (Walmart, etc). 103 sites in total, including many with electrical. Sites are generally on the smaller side, and have adequate speration and privacy from neighbours. Free shower facility onsite. Half of the island is an off-leash dog area, so it's ideal for pet owners. Overall, would recommend!
Popular location with the perfect length hiking loop around the island. Camp sites are gravel with fire rings. Building with showers, sinks and toilets in the middle of the sites next to a park with play structure. Outhouses and water faucets throughout. A few covered drop-in spots with fire rings, one with picnic tables. Lots of beach frontage along all sides of the island. Can be busy and loud in the campground on the long weekends, especially the spots near the parking lot closest to the road. Camp hosts are great and keep the toilet paper stocked, and bathrooms clean. They have firewood and snacks for sale.
June 2023 my husband and I hiked around Ferry Island. It was beautiful. We loved the carvings we found along the way. There is a campground. Picnic spots. River on two sides of the island. Close to downtown Terrace.
Nice place for camping dog friendly Good fishing spot too and your right in town perfect.
