Customer Reviews
About a half an hour or so of consistent paddling by kayak from lid creek campground, there are 4 developed camp sites facing the east north east side which is protected from the wind and waves. There's a metal food storage box and a couple of primitive outhouses, with huckleberries along a path that travels from the campsites to a lookout point where you can kinda get signal. Not crowded, even on the 4th of July weekend.
We put in at Doris Point and paddled for about three hours to reach the island. Campsites are mostly clean and the outhouses are in surprisingly good shape, though we did have to clear a bunch of food waste out of the fire pit at our campsite. The bear box has two lockers to accommodate more campers, but garbage disposal is not provided and leave-no-trace ethics should be followed. Motor-boaters make day trips to/around the island and can sometimes be pretty disrespectful with their wakes and making a lot of noise with their music and engines and whatnot, but at night it is very quiet and peaceful.
