We went in the late fall and it was absolutely beautiful! The tents were spacious, the blankets were super warm when it was 20 out one night, and the bathroom was really nice! All the employees we met were so friendly which really made it a nice stay! There is a USB type box to charge your phone and things but no outlets! You can rent a heater with propane for $30 or so a night, but it does fumigate you a bit in your tent, so if you’re cold natured, maybe go in the warmer months! There’s also a refrigerated cooler there, we didn’t use it because it was so cold out, but that’s so nice to have too. Everything was clean and looked really well maintained, I’m hoping it stays that way, especially for the price!! It is a steep price, especially when you can get a hotel for a lot less and have the convenience of an indoor bathroom and much more space as well as normally an included breakfast and stuff! A couple things that made it not a 5 star, the walk to the bathrooms, oh my gosh, it’s a hike! We ended up driving down most times, especially in the middle of the night! It’s nice not having it in view of the tents, but a closer option for the tents in the back would be a huge help because that was rough! Also I was sad most of the string lights were burnt out around the tent, out of 30-something bulbs, only 5-6 of ours worked :( That was sad and definitely took away a lot of the light at our camp site! We had a fire-ban when we went, so the additional lights would have been a big help, plus it just adds to the ambiance! It’s also not the quietest camp ground, noise carries so easily and we could hear the people around us. Also, even though there’s not many, you could hear all the cars on the road driving past :( Also recommend bringing something to sit your food and stuff on in the tent (a tray table or something) there’s not a lot of space to lay stuff on and it gets cluttered easily! It’s also super hard to find from the road at night, just a small wooden sign that’s not lit up at all to show you where to go, so just be careful, we pulled into a dead end and had to back the whole way out!

My husband and I chose Firefly Ridge for a weekend getaway and could not be more pleased with the decision. We stayed in Wild Rye, which is the furthest site from the main building - up a hill and nestled in the woods just a bit. The tent was spacious, clean and well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable as were the pillows. We brought clothes and food. Everything else was provided. The fire pit was set up for us upon arrival. The grill/griddle had a full propane tank. We had plates, utensils, blankets, lanterns a fire-starter and a bag for carrying wood - which was just down the hill. Lucy checked in on us a couple of times the first day to be sure we had everything we needed. Every day we had the same level of care from someone on staff. It was clear they wanted to ensure we were enjoying our stay. The bathrooms were clean, well-lighted and stocked with plenty of plush towels and washcloths. Toilets and showers are in their own private rooms. Everything about our stay at Firefly Ridge exceeded our expectations. We will certainly visit again. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get out into nature and still maintain a level of comfort.

Firefly Ridge was so much more than we expected. When they say just bring your food, they mean it! It made a weekend getaway so much easier, especially when you’re bringing kids and pups. We were checked on regularly throughout our stay and they even came by with bubbles, coloring books/crayons and outdoor exploring kits for our kids! The bathhouses were well stocked and very clean considering the frequent use. We cannot wait to visit this cozy little spot again!

Such a unique and wonderful experience! I never thought I'd want to go camping with my two young kids but this takes all the not-so-fun parts of camping, out of the equation. They really do take care of everything and you can just come and enjoy. The beds were quite comfortable and they provide everything you'd possibly need to cook. Highly recommend, we'll be back next year!

I have a lot of thoughts on Firefly Ridge. The two employees I encountered were absolutely wonderful. On our first night, we were one of two sites occupied. It was the first day after days of rain and the firewood was soaked. Neither group could get a fire started. An employee spent over an hour trying to remedy the situation which included a trip to Doris’ Deli for lighter fluid and dry wood. Beds and linens are A+. The battery/power source worked great for us. We swapped it for a fully charged one the next morning. We charged two phones, ran a fan and a noise machine on it without any problems. With the noise machine we weren’t bothered by the local roosters. The sites on the left as you enter the property don’t have any tree cover. The bathhouse is located near the entrance. IMO it’s too far away from the sites closer to the back especially when you consider that the individual sites don’t have water. Definitely bring your own water to include some handwashing water. A lot of people drove to the bathhouse (which is also where you have to wash dishes). We also brought and used a travel potty for my kids. There isn’t really anything to do there. No hiking trails or fishing spots on the actual property. I hope they continue to grow/expand. My kids would’ve loved even a couple swings. We also didn’t get the bubbles/crayons/outdoor exploring kits I read about in another review. We drove around a lot. The Paw Paw Tunnel is about a 25 minute drive, but absolutely worth it. Cacapon State Park and Berkley Springs are similar distances. Another note that has nothing to do with Firefly Ridge: there are Trump signs EVERYWHERE in the community. That’s either a plus or minus for you, but I wanted to throw it out there.
