The views are beautiful, the bathrooms are clean, and I almost want to give it a bad review just so fewer people find out about it. We didn't even use our tent because we decided to sleep under the stars - an unforgettable experience."
- "The drive to this campground was gorgeous. While we initially hesitated due to concerns about fire ants, the little shelters on each site made us feel more comfortable. The campground was quiet, with only a few other campers in small vehicles. It felt eerie yet peaceful, surrounded by sagebrush and wide-open skies."

Amazing… 2nd stay here and favorite spot I’ve literally ever camped. Beautiful view, clean bathrooms, I almost want to leave 1 star and a bad review so it’s a less sought after place. We decided to not even use our tent and sleep under the stars. I will say, don’t sleep on the ground unless you’re in a tent or enclosure. There were lots of ants and there are rattlesnakes there. Shooting stars, incredible sunset and sunrise, cools off at night which is perfect to bundle up by the fire and enjoy your family or a romantic evening. Just go there and see for yourself.
Gorgeous drive to the campground. We were just checking it out, thought about staying until we saw all the fire ants. Tenting + fire 🐜 didn’t excite me so we moved on. I liked that they had little shelters on each site. There were maybe 4 other campers, in campers, small campers. Very quiet, lots of sage brush, kinda eerie.
***BEWARE*** We were excited about staying here because of the location. When we arrived, nobody was there (no host, no ranger). It was a ghost town. When we checked out the bathrooms, we couldn’t believe how disgusting the toilets were; even the men were grossed out. The toilets were completely clogged. It wasn’t just the facilities near our campsite, it was all of them. When we went to the dump station to refill our fresh water, the water was shut off. As a result, we decided to spend the extra money and stay at the KOA in town.
Awesome campsite, if you love being out in primitive areas with gorgeous views. If you want comfort, look for a KIA campground. I did a hear a generator running, but they shut it off at dusk. The roads need repair, but the garbage is picked up and the park is clean. If people want more, they need to be willing to pay more in taxes or higher camping fees. I like it just way it is.
Each site shares 2 spots, so if someone parks next to you, they will be right next to you… we were there over July 4th and it was maybe 25% full, so this was not an issue… Sites are old so using pop outs and awnings can force you to position your trailer in less then optimal spots. Very scenic, NO CELL COVERAGE, a definite positive if you want to get away. Very windy during our stay, people lost shade covers. Make sure your rain cover is ready. Beach was more crowded then camp ground. Boat ramp is steep and wide for two trailers. Overall we would definitely come back.
We were so impressed by this campground! There are little structures at each campsite that provide cool shade, along with picnic tables and fire pits. Bathrooms are clean and you can even take a hot shower thanks to the solar power :) It seemed most if not all campsites have a view of the reservoir - we didn’t realize we were anywhere near a body of water prior to arriving so, being able to jump in for a swim was a great surprise! A little breeze kept us comfortable through the hot afternoon, and the camp host (I’m sad we didn’t catch her name!) was incredibly kind. As the sun set, we watched a family of deer hang out just beyond our campsite, and later heard a choir of coyotes down by the water. Tons of beautiful birds and critters nearby, and the view of the stars miles from any light pollution was plain incredible. Moon was so bright we didn’t need flashlights. Such a lovely place to spend a night - we wish we could’ve stayed longer!
Beyond the best campground I've ever stayed at. It was so quiet when we first pulled in. The scenery is so gorgeous and the plants around the campsites smelled amazing. The sites are on an honor system, you put cash in an envelope and place them in a tube. We didn't see camp management at all. Firewood was questionable at best. It was a small bundle of laminate wood flooring that didn't burn well and smelled awful. It would have been nice to have real wood available to purchase. I don't think I have a reason to ever pass through here again but I would willingly drive through two states again just to camp here again.
