Fireside Camp + Lodge offers a thoughtful array of services designed to enhance the guest experience. For campers, the property provides spacious areas for tent camping, often described as low-key and convenient. Each campsite typically includes a picnic table and a fire ring, facilitating traditional campfire experiences. For those preferring more comfort, the "Lodge" aspect of Fireside offers private rooms in a thoughtfully renovated hostel-style home, which can also be rented entirely for larger groups. These rooms are equipped with comfortable memory foam mattresses, and some include private bathrooms. A significant advantage for all guests is the access to clean and well-maintained facilities, including hot showers and flush toilets, which are often highlighted in guest reviews as a welcome luxury in a camping environment. There is also a communal barn or common area, which serves as a central hub for guests. This space is equipped with amenities such as a full kitchen, a vintage fridge, and often features like comfortable couches, a Smart TV, laundry facilities, and even games like Pac-Man or hangboards for climbers. This communal area fosters a sense of community among guests, providing a comfortable space to relax, socialize, and prepare meals. Potable water is accessible, and the property generally maintains a high standard of cleanliness across all its offerings.
The features that truly set Fireside Camp + Lodge apart are its strong ties to the adventure sports community and its unique blend of accommodations. Its proximity to Foster Falls, a world-renowned rock climbing and bouldering destination, makes it an ideal basecamp for climbers. This is not merely a convenience; it is a defining characteristic, attracting a vibrant community of like-minded individuals. Beyond climbing, the easy access to major hiking trails within South Cumberland State Park, including Savage Gulf and Denny Cove, appeals to hikers of all levels. The "lodge" component offers a more refined option than traditional tent camping, bridging the gap for those who desire outdoor immersion without sacrificing certain comforts. The presence of a "hostel" environment encourages interaction and shared experiences among travelers, making it a social and welcoming place. The design of the renovated barn/common area, with its blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, is a particularly appealing feature, providing a space for camaraderie, relaxation, and even practical needs like cooking and laundry. The pet-friendly nature of the campground is another significant feature, allowing guests to bring their beloved animals along, further enhancing the family-friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Customer Reviews
Nick and Sydney are responsive, lovely hosts, providing an ideal mix of stay options at Fireside. The property is as advertised, and I particularly loved the dispersed camping on private property as a solo adventurer. Fireside truly delivered the quiet, blissful connection I was looking for. This is the FIRST place in almost 3 years of traveling/van-life that I noted as 'MUST return to soak up more!'
We rented out the entire place for my wedding here and it was beautiful and afforadable! The owners where extremely helpful and friendly to even the more stubborn family members. The pricing is amazing for the location and you can tell they are constantly improving. Get in on this nice little spot early before it gets so popular that it's full!
10/10 would definitely recommend. Great pricing great location great hosting and camp sites are decently kept. They have so much close by as well. Camping her is quaint and quiet. They have an awesome little rec area too. I will make a return here whenever in the area. The chickens were a nice touch and were very cool. They sell eggs and firewood on site which is nice. It was a very peaceful retreat.
I got lucky and found this place in the early stages. Great people. Very laid back, but they will get you what you need. Great pole barn with electricity, fridge, microwave. People leave stuff. I left a small Coleman grill last weekend. Just reach out to them. Great for all trips. Family, solo, climbing, etc. It's very laid back but not without service. Plenty of support. And the location is great, 45 minutes from Chattanooga, hour and 15 from Nashville. But the mountain range they are on has a lot to offer. Plenty of quirky small towns around also. Ask about the eggs.
The most relaxing and memorable place I’ve ever vacationed and will continue to return! Perfect for that off grid get away! The cabin was rustic yet trendy, the trails and Mountain View are breathtaking, and who can beat an outdoor breakfast with eggs from their very own chickens! Thank you Nick and Sydney for an amazing experience! I will definitely be back!
