We stayed during Thanksgiving week 2024 in cabin #8. The area is beautiful. Tall trees were all flocked due to freezing fog. It was a picturesque drive in. Although we made reservations a month before they still were not ready for us. The stairs and porch were covered in that thick crusty ice that the person could not remove, so it was dicey everything up and down. The cabin was rustic but rustic doesn't mean it needs to be filthy. They leave dishes and a hot plate to use but they are dirty and gross. So bring your own things like you are camping. There were 2 actual nails to hang a coat on. The 2 twin beds were fine to use sleeping bags on. You can push them together but there is a 4 inch gap between them. It has a sink with cold water but it doesn't drain well and just brushing your teeth causes a 5 minute drain time. It was plenty warm however. It has a propane wall heater that is either on or off. It didn't allow for much adjusting, so prepare to be warm when sleeping. The trails are not maintained, but we kind if liked crunching through the snow. It is a beautiful location and we will probably come back but we will be in a tent. Our friends paid extra and stayed in cabin #2, the first night the heater kept going out so they were dealing with being cold all night. Their cabin was dirty also but they had a bathroom and a covered porch.

I have been coming here since the early nineties and absolutely love it. The cabins are great, especially in the snow. Our recent stay for my daughter's 13th birthday was a blast. The new owners are friendly and happy to lend some fishing tips.

The staff and the owners were wonderful. They were so kind and went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful stay. I was lucky to have a family of bats that lived in the roof of my cabin. The bats didn't bug me at all and they kept all the bugs from going inside my cabin. I was extremely hungry late one night after a long day. The amazing cook and owner made sure I got dinner. It was well past the time the kitchen was closed. I was so grateful I could have cried. The staff was very respectful with my service dog. I am a disabled women and was alone most of my stay so my service dog was an extremely important part of my stay to keep me safe and help me have the independence any gown adult would want every day. The staff and the owners were attentive, sweet and just amazing. The shower in cabin 6 was slow to drain but was not a huge deal. If you had 3 or more people in the cabin I would just recommend spacing out the shower times so it has time to drain. The hot water was wonderful. I had a few fans that I had brought from home. The fans worked fantastic for cooling down the cabin in the summer heat. I loved my stay and am very much looking forward to staying again. The porch was a fun place to sit in the morning to watch the playful and cute chipmunks play. My service dog loved to watch the chipmunks too. The paths were well taken care of so I could enjoy walks without getting hurt. The staff went out of their way to make sure my stay there was, safe, comfortable and fun. I loved the size of the dinning room table in my cabin. My best friend had forest themed wedding near by so some people from the wedding party stayed at Fish Lake. Everyone had a wonderful stay. I just want to give a special thank you to the owners and the staff. Thank you very much.

First let’s start with how gorgeous this place is with a rustic feel loved that. Plus mostly the staff I spoke with were very friendly and pleasant. However, we purchased a cabin with twin beds and a small kitchenette it was very adorable, but right away the sink had issues. We checked in at 3pm and by 7pm we were going to have to wait until the next day for it to be fixed. The handyman there was super nice and really did his best so we said okay sure. Next day hours go by and we still don’t have a sink it’s basically useless. We have a discussion with the manager or person in charge who agrees to upgrade us to a different cabin. 4hrs later he says the owner said that something is wrong with that cabin and we can’t have it. I said well let’s go see, that was a no go! So the owner doesn’t care about your money you spend as long as they get it. We decided to get our money back and leave. If you don’t care about giving your money away and paying people who don’t care about your experience then go ahead and stay!

The staff is wonderful and it is a beautiful place. I stayed a few nights in a 1 bedroom cabin. The staff will do their best to help you with anything you need. The Cafe is a nice place to eat for breakfast lunch or dinner. If your dog is friendly with people as well as other dogs you can bring your dog to sit with you in the outdoor seating. I would recommend you bring a fan or 2 if you stay durning the summer. The little shop had size c charging cords. The chipmunks were adorable and fun to watch in the morning. I have a professionally trained service dog, the staff was perfect with my service dog. I didn't have a single public access issue or distraction issue. I very much appreciate you and your staff.
