I gave this 5 stars because it is a very nice campground but it was mosquito central and I'm talking millions. They just swarm you even with bug spray. If not for that it would have been way more enjoyable. Just come prepared a screen tent is highly recommended. We didn't have one but wish we would've thought to bring one The crocodiles were out sunning at the marina. So glad we got to see them!!
They've done a great job with Flamingo. The campsites are well maintained and extremely spacious. They rebuilt the visitor's center and opened a great lodge with a very good restaurant. This is an amazing place to visit.
Everglades National Park! Campground and facilities were clean and well kept. Great place for family
Very interesting experience, we came here in March to tent camp which I probably wouldn’t do again due to mosquitoes and heat. We did find a shady spot to camp which helped. There is power at the camp sites but no water- bathrooms are basic and clean and there is a hose there. The other campers were spring breakers and a group of men from Miami who hired escorts to join them in their RV and party until 5am (didn’t keep us awake ). There’s no where to swim here because of all the gators. Bring a kayak or a bike, the trails are lovely.
Good & new visitor center. Nice little walks along the road in. Good campground, albeit nothing special. Giving this a low rating only because we did not enjoy the many mosquitos and flying/biting bugs. And this was at a low mosquito rating 2 out of 4 or 5). Can’t imagine how it would be like when the rate it “insane”. (That’s how it is actually called). Had an ok sleep and left first thing in the morning. Not our favorite spot, looking forward to getting back to the coast.
