  • "Bath house looked nice, ice machine was a huge plus. Lots of amenities, but pretty spread out. We stayed at the top, not near the amphitheater or the ball field, and it was very peaceful." – A satisfied camper
  • "Convenient campground off the interstate. We had plenty of room at our pull-through site and leveling was not an issue. The washers and dryers (2 each) were clean and it was nice to have an ice machine. It’s a short walk (if you don’t mind the hill) to the hotel which has a fitness room (no weights), indoor pool, and restaurant/bar." – Another happy camper

Bath house looked nice, ice machine was a huge plus. Lots of amenities, but pretty spread out. We stayed at the top, not near the amphitheater or the ball field, and it was very peaceful. It would be very nice if they did something with that amphitheater! What a great space. Overall good experience. A little tricky getting in but good signage. Check in at the Days Inn before you go into campground.

There are many good things about this park and I usually like KOA’s. Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. We checked in and found our site by driving on very narrow and steep roads. I set up and after almost fully set up I discovered there was no water. When I called the office they were not sure what to do but I was told to wait until the maintenance guy can by. After another half hour he came and said this site was not available and sent me to another site. Almost two hours later I was set up again and worn out from the experience. The sites are fine, everything worked fine. The staff seemed good but I have never been directed to a site that was known to be out of service.

The woman who checked us in was miserable. We went to our site and were not able to fit. I called to see if we could move somewhere else. The same miserable woman answered and said we had locked in that site so she couldn't move us! I offered to pay for another site and she became all flustered and said just take #4, I'll figure it out 🫤. They say the roads are paved, they don't tell you how narrow they are, or that you have to exit down a steep hill with a sharp curve. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back this year. Never again, a tired, unkempt campground with rude employees.

Traveled and stayed here for work. This is not your typical KOA setup. There are several mini-campground areas, which makes it feel not as crowded. The downside is that the shower location is a short hike away depending on the camping area. I used my campers shower and such - so it was no big deal to me - as I had FHU spot. We stayed late July and it was not crowded. Far enough away from the interstate that it was a quiet campground. I would stay here again.

We stayed overnight at the Flatwoods KOA, which offers beautiful vistas and is part of a convenient hotel complex. Easy to access from the highway with nearby grocery options and chain restaurants. The gravel sites were fine, but unfortunately, our power breaker wasn’t functioning, which meant we couldn’t use any utensils or plug in our tools at night or am.. We reported it to the front desk at 6:45 a.m. and were told maintenance would arrive shortly after 7—but no one ever came. We had to change a tire before leaving, and the lack of power made the process more difficult. Still waiting on a follow-up from the GM. A decent stopover location, but there’s definitely room for improvement in customer service and responsiveness.

The worst KOA we've ever stayed. Good thing it was just for an overnight. We would have been better off staying at a truck stop or Walmart. The sign to "register at Days Inn" which is located past the hotel so we had to back up our 40 ft rig with our car in tow. There is NO signage on the hotel so good luck finding the entrance. The WIFI is available with no internet connection, what's the point. The bath house was closed for repairs. The restaurant is in the hotel, with the only access being a hike up a steep him (not handicap friendly). No shuttle offered to handicapped guests.

Thank you Flatwoods KOA! For making me feel welcome and accommodating my request. After a rough start with my tow dolly and being brand new at this “working remote in a camper full time”, I wasn’t able to complete my entire journey through the night. I needed to be on line for work at 7 and figured I would ask if I could just have a Day Pass. They were wonderful. Friendly. And didn’t complain because I was asking for time usually reserved for check in and check out. The campsite was incredibly beautiful and well maintained. Peaceful. What a great work day. I can’t thank you enough. Now I’m off to finish the rest of my trip and feel refreshed albeit a bit tired. I will definitely come back to rest and relax here at some point.
