Great people and amazing places to go kayaking! Please support these people. Also it's best to go when the river is higher after a couple days of rain
We used the shuttle service to take my daughter and I and our kayaks up river to Sprewell Bluff. It cost $30 for the two of us and our kayaks and they will load and unload everything for you. And when you get done kayaking they'll pull the kayak back up to your car. We had fun. Would definitely do it again.
We rented tubes as a group to float down the river. The river experience was beautiful, truly a great experience. One of the staff members at the outpost was excellent. She was personable and friendly and helpful to us. The other was not, she was incredibly rude to us, told us that we were inconviencing her because she wanted to leave early, and tried to talk us out of the rental at all it felt. She also gave us our tubes and life vests, giving a party of only adults primarily children's sized life vests, and tube with a massive hole in it. The experience of the Flint river was wonderful, but I'll never rent equipment from this location again due to the customer service making us feel unwelcome.
Absolutely beautiful trip down the river! But safety was definitely a concern for my party. A party of 5 adults and we were given 3 CHILDREN sized life vests. One of the tubes we rented had a hole in it (thankfully, I remained safe and the tube never popped) One of the workers made it very apparent that my party was causing her problems. She said “we close around 8 but I like to get out of here early so it’ll take y’all like 6-8 hours if you still want to go” Upon calling the day prior to reserve the spots we were not informed of pricing/ hours of operation (which you also cannot seem to locate on google) I’m sad to say i will not be returning due to my safety concerns & the very poor customer service. I’m not usually one to complain, especially with family owned businesses. The older women was pleasant & very helpful. But please do not waste your money & go elsewhere.
I called ahead and asked how much they charge to shuttle 2 kayaks. The lady told me $30 total for 2 kayaks. When we got there (4 hour drive) they said it was actually $60 for 2 kayaks. I mentioned she said it would be $30 over the phone and she replied saying that price is only for small kayaks (we have 2, 10ft kayaks). Dishonest.
