So happy I found this campground! Stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend and had a wonderful visit. The campground is centrally located, close to several great hikes and overlooks, and "downtown". The staff is the main reason we stayed - I requested availability, then they called to confirm our reservation and the lady I spoke to was so friendly and welcoming, and so excited for us to visit. Very dog friendly, we brought 3, and everyone around us had dogs as well. Very clean, large spaces with wonderful amenities. Beautiful grounds, nice bathrooms/showers, even coin-operated laundry available. Will definitely stay here next time we camp in Boone! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Such an authentically nostalgic, hometown campground right on a small, rushing river with 2 little waterfalls. The log cabin office welcomes you with a burning fire and friendly smiles from Miss Beverly and Jodi who were tremendously helpful with hiking recommendations. I camped at the small camper/tent sites, right on the river, and the RV sites are tighter together on gravel. Kudos to tidy bathrooms and showers that were cleaned each morning. As a solo traveler, feeling safe is #1, and I can't wait to come back on another hiking trip!

Family tradition the last three years is to come here for Father's Day. It's a wonderful campground. The sites are roomy enough for campfires and picnic tables, some even bigger. The management is very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms, showers (excellent heat & pressure) and laundry are clean. The long term stayers are very friendly and happy. Best part is the safe factor, our kids can run around unsupervised with the plethora of other kids on the playground and in the creek without concern. I highly recommend this campground and can't wait to come back for many more years!!

stayed here a few yrs ago, very beginning of covid just prior to restrictions and loved it. happened to get lucky with tent site 23 the best spot there without doubt and loved it. My pic is from said site (difficult to get 2 teenagers to stand still long enough to get the long exposure, only 5 tries to get them this marginally clear haha) The other is the site from other side of steam, both tents are within that sites boundary. They had no problem with more than one tent as me and my sister of course do not want to share a tent. All good. My sisters daughter showed up with their tent + youngins and only had to pay for being extra peeps. No problems as 23 is by far the largest site they have and management didn't bat an eye. Unfortunately they have since moved to one tent per site, no exceptions. It is a rather small campground with for the most part permanent rv sites and relatively few tent sites that get filled quickly which makes it rather difficult get 2 sites let alone side by side. So if you have kids with their own tent either go somewhere that understands this type of thing or be forced to pay for 2 sites which more than likely will not be together, which is bullshit and in my opinion unacceptably NOT "family oriented" . this has caused them to lose our planned yearly week long pilgrimage

We loved staying at Flintlock! The campground was clean, staff super friendly, and the creek is so beautiful. Our kids really enjoyed playing in the creek and enjoying all the nature around us. The location of Flintlock is great - close to all the attractions, restaurants and grocery stores. We will definitely be back! April is a great month. Weather was beyond gorgeous.

I called through the number listed on Facebook and was able to reserve one-night on a very short notice. The Cabins were very clean and orderly as well as cozy and inviting. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and gentle creek sounds to and from the bath house. The staff was inviting and explained the property well aa a first time visitor. As for the location, it is very close to downtown Boone and Grandfather Mountain. We loved it and will likely return for a family affordable weekend trip out.

It's such a beautiful little spot. Very clean and very friendly atmosphere. They have a nice shower house that was well maintained and a coin laundry, as well. They are pet friendly and very hospitable, and we had a wonderful time...we will be back every time we pass through.

One of the things that I like about Flintlock is that there is almost always a staff member close by. This is an absolute comfort to me to know someone is not far from our campsite, as often I am out on my motorcycle and my family is alone at the campsite. Jeff and Tom or another staff member are extremely vigilant, and I appreciate that! The campground is well maintained, clean, and orderly. Everyone is eager to lend a hand should you have a need.
