It was cold and windy which is expected in January. We saw tons of shells and came across the memorial tree. There were 5 vehicles when we showed up and 2 when we left. Seems like a lot of parking is available but it does cost if you don't have the Charleston county parks pass. Great place to go walk and enjoy the sound of the ocean and seems like a great place to go in the summer if you stay away from the inlet as you cannot swim by it. The sand was nice and the beach was clean! Will definitely come back when it's warmer and we can test the waters! Had changing stalls and showers to rinse the sand off at two spots other than the dune house. The dune house has 2 family bathrooms(the only ones open right now) as well as a men's and women's(open during the busy season) they also have a snack shack open during busier days as well.

If you're looking to get away from the craziness of Folly but still have access to amenities like a restroom, picnic tables, and showers, this is a great place for you. I'm not sure how it gets during the summer, but in the off season it is very quiet with not a lot of foot traffic and no shortage of parking. Very pretty out here!

Have family that live in the area so they have a park pass. Love the beach! Great area for finding shark teeth and great for shell hunting especially in the fall!

Beautiful beach, away from the big crowds that you’ll find on the rest of the island.

Beautiful beach, very clean, several entries points to get to the sand from the parking area, nice facilities for restrooms with covered areas to sit for picnic or to look out perched over the beach. Just keep an eye out in warmer weather for any jelly fish. The park does cost $15 to get in and it is well worth it to have the facilities and easy parking accessible.
