Had a great get away experience. Met a few long time campers 40+ years very friendly, and welcoming. Ellen, who was very accommodating and sweet. Forgot our garden hose at home, and offered to help us out by lending us hers for our ice castle. Came for 1 night....stayed for 2. Definitely the place to remember for our next outing.
Note: This is not a 5 star resort with swimming pool, etc. That's not what we were looking for. This is a family owned location where we could stay with our RV. Very hospitable. Water, Electric, Waste hookup. Very peaceful location. Nice fishing lake for my husband and his 2 children. Perfect for our Father's Day Weekend getaway. We had found this place last March when we needed a place to park due to weather/snow. We decided to come back this weekend, most spots are booked for the holiday weekend. The price for the weekend was reasonable. Plus there was an option to rent one of their boats for $10 per day. We brought our own motor. Kids loved fishing off the dock and caught lots of fish. This place is mostly for seasonal renters. There were not a lot of folks around, very quiet and enjoyable. One comment my husband had was the fishing cleaning area, there was a garbage can for fish waste that hadn't been emptied and was stinky. (That fishing cleaning area wasn't near where our trailer was located. So not really an issue.) Overall, great location for our weekend getaway. The utilities we needed were there, plenty of space for RV camping. And peaceful!! We will definitely plan on staying here again.
This is my fishing spot - absolutely the BEST Bass fishing in Minnesota - and wonderful, quiet campground with water and electric for only $30/night - I spent my 44th birthday there with family, and had the BEST time ever. Ellen is the sweetest woman I have ever met - she put my zip-lock baggies in her freezer for me and I went home with over 10lbs of fish. I will NEVER go anywhere else. Thank you Ellen!
