IMPORTANT: Don't take the dirt road Google Maps might suggest! Use the gated entrance. Fore Lake Campground in Ocala National Forest is beautiful and mostly quiet (except for our party-loving neighbors!). Spacious, shady campsites (sites 26-30 are great – take the first unmarked left after the camp host). Each site has a fire pit, picnic table, bear locker, and some have grills. Animal-proof trash bins are conveniently located. The lakeside bathrooms were closed, but the main restroom was excellent: clean, flush toilets, push-button showers with hot, high-pressure water, and handicapped accessible. Be prepared for bugs! You'll need a code for the bathrooms and campground access after hours. Get the code from the camp host when you arrive. Overall, a fantastic, tranquil spot. Just hope for quiet neighbors!

We love swimming and relaxing here! Lots of campsites available. There are bears, so be prepared and cautious. Metal food and garbage bins at every site. The lake is awesome for swimming – clear water and sandy bottom! Lots of fish, and even a cute turtle swam with us!

This place is just okay. Do NOT come with a large rig! The potholes on the road are terrible, and it's a tight squeeze (we have a 24-foot trailer). There are no walking trails. The lake is small, and I was worried about gators. The bathroom code was annoying, and the hot water was lukewarm. The bathroom floors weren't cleaned during our three-day stay. The sites were tricky to get in and out of.

Older and not maintained. It might have been okay in 1970 when rigs were small and most people tent camped. Unkempt roads, poorly maintained bathrooms, and no real amenities like hiking or biking. The lake looks unused for a reason.

Excellent place! We stayed one night at site 31 (not the best). Beware of the Google Maps route! It sent us on a terrible hunting path, and we almost got stuck in the sand and mud. The campground entrance has a sign – follow that, not the path without a sign. The host helped us with our car (because of the sand and mud). Highly recommend this place! We'll be back for a longer stay!
