Wonderful place. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tour of the fort was fun. I recommend the guided tour to see the tunnels. Beyond that, the area is wonderful. I was there in the middle of August and was excited to have 70 degree weather with a breeze. It's true that there is always a breeze here. A nice break from the Florida heat on my trip to the area.

Good fort and bay area with lots for ships. they have a great couple of quiet spots for fishing and enjoying sunset. Timing for the last entry in summer was 3pm at 10 usd. may change for winter times. Overall very pleasant weather and nice view of bridges and open sea at port. Fort has good history and well maintained great for kids and tourists. If you are visiting in summer time be sure to visit during sunrise or sunsets. And enjoy view and nice cold breeze over sea. Preferred plan - entry ticket for last batch at 3pm, come out of fort during beautiful sunset.

A time capsule with majestic ocean views. I wish these walls could talk about the forts different services to our country. I took the self guided tour and was provided a map upon request, which provided as substitute for the walls talking I suppose. My partner and I happened to time our visit with the fife and drum festival which gave us a fantastic soundtrack for our adventure. Coupled with a mixture of sun and shade along with a conveniently placed Dels lemonade truck, it was a lovely day.

The guided tour was super interesting. Carla, our guide, was not only very knowledgeable and friendly but also a direct descendant of the locals and she will present them to you in one of the informative panels. We had a very good time understanding how the people lived there. The tunnel experience was awesome but not recommendable to claustrophobics. Carla kept us so interested in her stories that we realized when we got out that we didn’t get pictures! Here are the ones we took in our way out.
