We are full-time RV'ers, so we saw more and experienced more than just weekend fun. Sites are plenty large for even the longest and widest rvs. Yards are always being mowed. There is constant change of campers, so spots are always being switched (which is a downside because the reservation system is not practical). We saw some just basically swap sites because they wanted to be here for a week, but only 2 or 3 days were available at each site. Not all campers walk dogs on leashes, and some campers don't pick up the waste. No staff from MWR checks for IDs, and no staff from MWR visits the campground to look for concerns. Washer/dryers are constantly taking money and breaking down. Heard from several campers their MWR rented camper had leaks. Trash is always being pulled out by raccoons and/or campers just set beside dumpsters or by a few small cans around the park to be ripped apart by wildlife. Site fees are way too high for what you get. Overall, I give this a 2 star because the grounds crew does their best, and the sites are large, but MWR staff really need to start doing more at the RV grounds. This is not a free service, so we should be getting prime support at a high cost per night. Also, there is no camp host, so check in, check out, campsite cleanliness, and so on are all on the campers to do right.

We stayed almost a month to spend Thanksgiving with family. Great location that is close to DC. Site are spacious with each having a picnic table and fire pit (firewood can be purchased from the commissary). While the sites have concrete pads, not all are level. Several rigs had to pull up one side on blocks to get closer to level. Depending on the site and your rig, you may need sewer tube extensions and a longer hose to reach the utilities. The park does not have a camp host so it’s the responsibility of the campers to keep the area clean. This also means there is no one checking the area for issues. There are many who stay long term but we also watched many families shift from one site to another during their stay with none taking the site they left. I think they could benefit from a better reservation system. Not everyone keeps their dog on a leash so be mindful when walking your pet. This is the most expensive full hook up military campground we’ve stayed in but considering the location, it was cheaper than anything in the area.

We did drive by recon, and good we did, it wayyyy back in the woods, I see a lot of homesteading not giving other veterans a chance to visit, nothing to see unless you are a fisherman.
